Mixed grip shrugs exist?

Can I mix my grip on rack pulls too?

Serious question…
Do you pull deadlifts with a mixed grip? If yes, it it a whirl. The concern is with the under hand grip is the bicep is more prone to tear.

I swear before an 8 lb baby Jesus, that if I walk into the gym locker room one more time, and see an old man using a hair dryer to dry his fucking nut sack, with his leg elevated up on a bench, while trying to talk to you with a straight face, I am going to commit a suicide on someone.

Also, people using the restrooms and showers completely barefoot.
What kind of retard doesn’t use the hair dryer on his nut sack? Do you know how awesome that shit feels? I’ve been doing that since I was 18, and first discovered that their were hair dryers in the locker room. Some days I go to the gym and don’t even work out. I just go to feel the sweet sweet sensation of blow drying my nuts.

What’s wrong with showering or using the restrooms barefoot? The high school football coach said we’d get athlete’s foot and other foot shit. They said the same things about the dorms in college. I hear the same shit working on offshore oil rigs. I’ve been using communal showers since 1993, and I’ve had athlete’s foot once. It was like 2005, and a little desenex powder cleared it up in a day.
I had a roommate one time who shaved his head, but had a blow drier. I asked him, “WTF, dude?” He said that deodorant didn’t work for him unless he used the blow drier to make it totally dry before he put his shirt on. I did see him do this many times. But I also walked in once and he was blow drying his twig’n’berries. I LMAO.

Walking into the men’s toilet area with no shoes on is straight up nasty…yet I see people doing it often. Fear of “athlete’s foot” wouldn’t be my primary concern.
The pissers are right next to the Roman Baths sized hot tub. All the splash from the geriatrics getting in and out tends to keep the whole place, at least, looking clean.

That’s actually recommended for people who overly sweat. Never get dressed damp.

there is literally no point to shrugging or rowing with a mixed grip. a shrug serves two functions in my opinion…to build trap size/strength as well as grip. both are compromised if you mix it. if working the muscles is your only goal just use straps that’s what they’re for.

I agree with this for the most part.

Mixed grip should only be used for heavy deadlifts, and NOT in any movement where the arms or shoulders flex. Mixed grip can affect shoulder health in those instances.

No pain, no gain.

lol

Seriously though… that looks like SOME pain was involved.

I have seen this before, two guys looking like ethiopian marathon runners had set up a gymkhana of forearm exercises. Why you need to train to add mass to your forearms when you can’t deadlift 135,? i don’t know…
Rock climbers.

I imagine there was a measure of “HOLY SHIT GOTTA LEAP CLEAR!!” involved, else we’d already have another pic of Push’s face half hanging off.

in the middle of ontario? (completely flat)

but in that case strength is preferable over mass

My point, since these seem to be a reaction to it, is that if you dead lift with a mixed grip and you are using the shrug - though I was probably thinking more of a rack pull - to work on the top portion of the DL movement, then mixed grip if that is what you are comfortable with. Otherwise, I agree, no real point.
