I can’t wear any shoes with a lot of support, they make my feet hurt like hell. So I just wear chuck’s and some slip ons by vans. I had a pair of nike frees 5.0 but they fell apart pretty quickly. They also had a little too much arch support.

I don’t know how applicable to your type of situation this is, but I broke my foot a while back and it healed wrong thus giving me cramping type pain in my right foot. Especially when working legs. For the hell of it I tried working legs barefoot and it hurt a lot less and eventually stopped hurting altogether, even when not working legs. My theory has always been that supporting the weight without the aid of shoes somehow fixed it. Kind of along the lines of what Professor X is saying. Maybe working legs barefoot would help you too.
