Biden 2021 - A Mediocre Middle Ground

Not even bothering to read your lame attempt about wah wah repubs spending.

Try answering one ofthe other items.
You won’t and whataboutism is your only reply

I just think it’s odd that the attacks presented weren’t even remotely bad things as little as I dunno 5 months ago? Yes it’s whataboutism I’m not even denying that. But come on we were just there!

Spending didn’t matter then. Does now.

Trumps friends with Putin doesn’t matter. But Biden backing down to them. (I thought we should stay out anyways cause America first?). Are we supposed to be Team America World Police again or do nothing?

Completely agree on inserting himself into justice. Bullshit and I called him out on it. Just like we should have been calling out Trump and Obama (and anyone before) on them.

I’ll also agree on the border. While I don’t think saying moronic shit about making a wall that you couldn’t make happen is smart it was an area Trump at least was consistent on. I would likely disagree with you on what we need to do, but would like a concrete plan.

My thing is it’s hard for me to take seriously anyone on the right who was silent when Trump did incredibly similar if not the exact same things and is now beyond outraged at Biden.

I should also say I’m saying the right and not meaning to automatically lump you in as taking all these positions.

Erased reply by accident.
Thanks for your reply.

Deficit spending and the subsequent debt created, are no - no to me. Been saying for years.

Wars and pandemics call for extra, these “infrastructure” and “family leave” Bills are bogus smoke screens.

This seems like you’re mad about the details and the less the overall item. I mean Republicans were going to have infrastructure week for four straight years and as pointed out a bunch of the stuff in their bill is also things Democrats are pushing for.

It makes sense that if you’re a Republican Democratic bills are bound to have some items you won’t be for. But on the whole a lot of this stuff is currently and has been historically popular and stuff Republicans have supported.

I don’t know much about any of the family leave stuff to be honest though. Historically we are far behind many other countries like us when it comes to employee benefits. But I haven’t read the specifics of everything that has been proposed. Better not cost some massive company any potential profit and keep that CEO from buying his third yacht or something!

I’m not sure this one is whataboutism. That would be justifying spending based on the other side doing it. It is pointing out hypocrisy.

Huh? Explain, please. I know you upper crest folks like to tell us rubes that, but I’ve never heard the reasoning.

People always want more, no matter what.

Maybe. That’s why people save.

But it doesn’t make sense to increase spending when income is down. It may make sense to tap into savings to maintain spending, but this country doesn’t have a lot of savings. The only other sensible option is to cut nonessential(non defense) spending.

If you can’t understand the difference between a country or millions and a family of four I don’t know what to tell you.

True. But this doesn’t change that we would expect increased spending during times of crisis. When hurricane katrina hit it’s not the time for governments to say well we may have less income due to tax loss of people being displaced so let’s lower spending.

This is why people live in the United States and won’t move to your land of anarchy. Also why you complain about government on a forum and don’t create that society. You enjoy the benefits much more of this place.

I figured.

It’s strange how this argument works so well against freedom but not against anything else. “This is why people live in the United States and won’t move to your land of gay marriage.” “This is why people live in the United States and won’t move to your land of heavier gun restrictions.” “This is why people live in the United States but won’t move to your land where Trump/Biden isn’t President.”

It’s such a well thought out argument; almost as advanced as, “But Somalia.”

It’s true. I have no idea where to start with someone who thinks a country of millions is like a family of four.

But it could behave more like it because with your line of thinking no one would live in the US anyways.

Prob true, Brohanski. Everyone would just move away if there was a little more freedom. People don’t stay in their homelands through far worse.

Since when have you advocated for “a little more freedom?” You don’t think the government should do anything and believe speed limits shouldn’t exist among other moronic ideas.

What? I would argue Somalia has more freedom than the US. I won’t be going there ever.

I have no idea what your post has to do with mine. I didn’t say people will move away if there’s more freedom elsewhere. People typically don’t leave their home, unless they’re forced to do so.

I have no idea what your post has to do with anything.

Even though some have posted that Biden’s administration has a fair bit of negative, I like that he recognizes the genocide of the Armenians in the early 20th century.

It isn’t a strategic move, it is the ethical one.

Now THIS is a classic, by which all other classic cartoons should be measured.

I mean… It kinda should. It’s more complicated naturally but I’d prefer that to no rhyme or reason.

I compare this to unexpected surgery or medical bills, or totaled car, in the fictional family scenario. You’d better spend that money or things will get a lot worse. And you’d better have a war chest to deal with the financial hit. I don’t think “ideal” is the word, but “necessity” might be close.

Both you and Nick can be correct in this scenario, depending on how you look at things. You should save when things are good, but if the savings are going up then you can also splurge… As long as you run a positive balance overall. You should spend when unforeseen emergencies require it… But you’d better have the war chest to deal with it. You should still spend if you don’t, but maxing out a credit card is a bad long term plan so you had better pay back the card once the emergency is past.

Credit where it is due, this is a correct position, and I am glad an administration is willing to confront that bastard Erdogan now that Turkey isn’t needed to cage in the Soviet Union.

That said, it’s still not as funny as the U.K. prime minister writing a poem about him being a goat fucker to win a competition.

Yep, this is the correct call and I’m glad it’s being made regardless of any political problems.

Um…what?!
