That’s a great question. It seemed clear to me that Biden belonged in a calm, relaxing setting with regular visits from loved ones when he was campaigning in 2019. Democrats and their allies posing as journalists in the media business tried to tell me I was imagining things. I obviously was not.

Honestly, I think he was too dumb for that, at least regarding Ukraine. Because there was an opportunity to get some serious cash out with the Paul Manafort circle around Yanukovich (Putin’s puppet) but after the 2014 revolution this scheme (mostly) fell apart.
Hunter was getting around 50k a month for his fictitious “board duties” from the pro-Russian owner of Burisma named Zlochevsky (which loosely translates as Mr. Evil, go figure) and who’s currently on the run from the Ukrainian authorities. Of course, I don’t know what happened behind the scenes, but Sleepy Joe’s public utterances in Ukraine were aimed directly against Zlochevsky’s both private and business dealings.
My personal opinion is that Zlochevsky found out that he could buy a crackhead for 50k/month (which was peanuts for him at the time) who happened to be the son of then-VP, and it was too big an opportunity to pass up. I believe he used his name as part of an effort to prevent a move against him because after 2014 he was on the losing (pro-Russian) side and had a famous fall out with then-pro-Western oligarchs.
If Hunter did get some serious money out of Ukraine (besides the Burisma “salary”), then it must have been an extremely sophisticated scheme. Considering that Kyiv is known for gossip and that Hunter is well, a crackhead I find it pretty unlikely. Again, not for want of trying.
McCain was visiting Ukraine regularly at the time, and he’s literally considered a saint in the country and high ranking Ukrainians would confess their country sins to him - word about these sophisticated Hunter schemes would have gotten out.
The NRA for example got the full FSB hookers and blow treatment in Moscow, as well a lot of Valley guys.
I think the sophistication lies on the receiving side.
The purchasing of the influence is pretty straightforward, and the government officials doing it don’t really need to hide their transactions, but I’m sure discretion is required.

This was the correct ruling legally. It stems from a separation of powers issue and the Supreme Court got it right.
There is only immunity for official acts derived from his executive constitutional powers. You are mischaracterizing the ruling very badly.
The courts get to decide what is an official or unofficial act based on the specific facts and alleged infraction.
