is that what i said?
Ask Hunter.
No, but I can feel the debt going up.
Also the repercussions of our credit score being downgraded. You would be aware of this and what it means (especially for small businesses), if you owned a business and dealt with any funding sectors or banks.
People that have never had to write a check to pay for taxes don’t feel taxes going up. The rest of us feel like we’re getting it with no lube as we sign our names.
I have felt like that ever since day 1 of earning money.
I laughed when my daughter asked, “what’s FICA?” All I could say was you’re paying for the privilege of contributing to society.
Oh yes first finding out about FICA is always a treat.
Paying yearly for your law license for the “privilege of practicing law” is another great one.
Thank you to my almighty masters that have allowed me to use the knowledge and training that I paid for and spent years learning.
Anyone that is an adult and works that likes the state is an absolute idiot, even dumber than the federal government fucktard employees.
I like how these government agencies and departments, from city to federal, charge you fees when you want them to do something they are already being paid to do.
I had to pay the town clerk, I think it was 20 dollars, to record my notary certificate for example. Isn’t that part of the clerk’s job? It’s like getting taxed twice by the city. I already paid the state to get certified as a notary.
Whoops.

Which means that savings is greater.
If the government spends $100 into the economy but only taxes back $90. The $10 left over, you would call a deficit. The debt is just all the deficits added up. Whee does that money

go?
Have those taxes paid for the billions sent to Ukraine?
But do you feel it when firemen are called for an emergency?
I feel the same way about a PE license. Thankfully my specific engineering field doesn’t require one, but anyone working for a city/gov/construction company typically needs one.
The years of schooling and proof of graduation aren’t enough? PE requires more payments and continuing education requirements (typically paid for by the licensee).
If they could get their shit together and apply my taxes to only worthwhile things I wouldn’t mind. I might as well be flushing my federal tax dollars down the toilet, at least I could get some use out of them wiping before they disappear into the abyss.
Same. Mechanical engineers are lucky in that regard. I haven’t even considered getting the PE, because it would just be a waste of time.
I think most of these type of things (on going certification) are genius for the people who come up with them, but really suck for people in the field. My wife had to do OTA certification testing. I think it was around ~$500. Lots of her classmates had to take it twice. It was an online test. These MFers just came up with a website, made a test, convinced the field that it was needed, and are now set for life. It’s a lot like the people who write text books for college. Once you get into a bunch of colleges, you can just make small updates to your book every couple years and be set for life.
I have not once ever had to call firemen for an emergency, but I also don’t mind paying for EMS.
Which are a miniscule amount compared to the taxes taken in. More should go to EMS and infrastructure. Things that actually benefit our citizens across the board, since they are paying for it / on the hook for the debt ultimately.
Taxes / government spending was meant to benefit the citizens of the USA, not the elite and their friends while they toss shitty crumbs back to the peasants.
We all know where the money goes. Mainly to big business, overseas, and special interests.
I wish the law licensing process was this cheap… lol.
100%, but we know that will never happen.
Actually your money is being taken from the economy, which staves off inflation. Federal taxes DO NOT pay for programs.
How well has that been working lately?
GTFOH
My fiancee is an NP, so she has to maintain both her RN and NP licenses in order to practice. The nursing board, being full of the “nurse in title only” folks that it is, can’t consolidate those to either expire at the same time so only one renewal date is necessary, or have the NP license supersede the RN license and act as both. They’re a swell group of useless people.
Tell me you never had a job without telling me you never had a job…
