I agree; but I certainly don’t think calling an actor “beggar-in-chief” is particularly brave, even if the world is telling me to worship the guy. But it’s enough to piss off those that float in the winds of the time and somehow agree with every stupid thing they’re told to.

Xi’s plan was probably to let the crazy Russian scare everybody to death, thus making Xi’s saber rattling bluff(s) much more believable; Xi was most likely egging Putin on, telling him how awesome Putin’s victory would be, etc. The positive out of this is now that the world knows Putin is a paper tiger…except for the nukes, Xi has no “ally” to throw at the West.
I do agree with you on the whole ROI thing wrt Ukraine and US dollars -infinitely more return (because “infinity” is what one gets when dividing by zero) relative to the wasted dollars thrown at Iran/Afghanistan. At this point, no doubt there are dollars being funneled to the accounts of less than ethical folks, but hey that’s always the price of war. I personally will always respect people that are actually fighting for a cause, placing their lives on the line -on either side.

I’m betting, and this is just a vague and nebulous intuition, that their launch of a new gold backed currency was contingent upon a swift victory and Putin basically owning Europe and its gas supply by now.

So far I like Biden saying that materials used in infrastructure projects funded by the infrastructure bill must be produced in the US, and I like allowing medicare to negotiate drug prices.

I think Fetterman is in trouble.
There was a lot said about the stresses of the job and and his ability to handle it, none of it good, and he’s responding right about as one would expect.
Thats not good. Not good at all. I don’t necessarily like his politics, but I don’t want to see him die either.
Biden suffers from dementia; in his mind he thinks he’s fine, so arguably, not knowing any better is a valid excuse.
Fetterman knew better, he made his own choice to lie about his health to get elected.
Ah, they’re both getting tooled by the power adjacent around them.
If anything, I’d give Biden the benefit of doubt in that regard. He’s legitimately non compos mentis.
