Anyone who thinks this guy is all there and doing a good job is delusional. I refuse to even associate or converse with anyone that holds this view.

The wild thing is that they’re even out there with so many abject failures in-hand. Apparently everyone is shifting red except for college-educated women, who have somehow become more left-leaning during the Biden administration.
This is entirely anecdotal but most of the truly “woke” people I know in real-life, often self-described activists and “allies”, all seem to have underlying mental struggles as well. The most woke, most vocal, most judgmental person I followed on facebook publicly threatened suicide last weeked.
Fortunately a friend of ours called the sheriff and they went to check up on him and he got himself assessed. I doubt this will result in him re-visiting his politics any time soon, but hopefully he can live a better life.
My sister-in-law does high-level gene therapy research and has now more or less cut herself off from my family because we’re all conservatives. She considers herself an important activist and considers her activist work to be more important than extended family relationships. I feel bad for my brother, especially since he goes along with her wacky beliefs for his daughters’ sake, up to and including parading them around at the most woke political events in the entire Boston area.
It’s sad whenever loved ones join a cult and lose sight of what is true and good in the world.

Agreed.
I lump the far right wackos in the same boat. Extreme radical thought from each side is terrible, but I think the extreme leftists take the cake on being worse in some regards.
I just want to be left alone by government and people in general and do my own thing while raising my family.

Fortunately the far-right doesn’t have much power anywhere today. My sister’s mother-in-law believes everything she hears on the internet that fits into her very conspiracy-oriented conservative worldview. Very extreme stuff, all of the QANONS and religious prophecies all rolled up into one.
I had a former co-worker who wanted me to sign on to a very long letter asking the CEO to let us carry our guns in the office. In this letter he detailed the obstacle-based defensive measures he’s implemented in his cubicle and laid out some various scenarios he’s imagined where he could save the day with his gun.
I’m as pro CC as anyone and if I could carry my gun at work I would, but that was not a letter I’m putting my name on.
Same guy would hold up open enrollment meetings to grill the poor guy from the insurance company about how the various plans pay out for abortion services. Same guy had deep suspicions that his very rural Maine neighbor was Antifa, requiring more money spent on upping his home security measures.
Helluva great electrical engineer though.

I am honestly curious as to what he is actually seeing. Is it like a bad acid trip that will never end? Is he seeing Obama in drag? Maybe he sees Hunter banging some crack rocks through his pipe.

I’ve never had a bad acid trip, so I wouldn’t know. Nearly a quarter century later, I’m still upset that I’m not experiencing frequent flashbacks.
Or maybe I am, which would explain why I just saw the Easter Bunny tell The President of The United States what to do and where to go.

Admittedly, I have never done acid, but I know folks that have.
One still sees things crawl out of his tv and skeletons sword fighting in random places - 20 years later.
Aside from enjoying an occasional Phish song instead of skipping it, things have seemed totally normal for me most of the time until just recently.
