Bi-Polar

Anyone who’s confused about something in their life could be officially misdiagnosed as “bi-polar”. Don’t spend too much money on encapsulated poison before reflecting long and hard on your life, your nature, and the things you have done and want to do. Bi-polar sits high beside other obsurdities like “ADHD” and “chronic fatigue syndrom”. They are illnesses in the sense that they are the mere crystalizations of a bigger illness… It’s still important to learn what you can of this “disease” and make sure to reflect on yourself as you learn. Nerve and emotional disorders are always caused by a weakness of spirit and/or will. Fix your problem. Don’t “treat” you’re problem.[/quote]

Youre right about a bigger issue leading to mental illness in some instances. But that third to last sentance is pure insanity.

Im sure all of the people with brains that are pumping out fucked up amounts of dopamine and seratonin simply need to pray more. Yeah that’ll work …

Is anyone in here bipolar?

Got diagnosed a month ago. Its a weird feeling…like all my issues make sense, but I feel weird about the future.

I’m not, but my last boss was severely bipolar. Weirdest 2nd interview of my life was him telling me they really liked my resume, etc., and would I mind working with him? He was genuinely apprehensive about my taking the position. I did and we worked several years together. He stayed on his meds and was just fine. He did have to get them adjusted from time to time, so it is an ongoing process.

You’ll be ok. Just remember to stick with your treatment. He suffered pretty badly before they got it figured out, so count yourself lucky. I’m posting because he has done very well and you probably need to hear that from as many people as possible.

Best of Luck!

First off I was not the first, second, third or even fourth poster to this response. Second man my best friend is bipolar and I happen to have treated many, many patients with bipolar. So I am responding from someone with an education and ability to treat this condition. And I like having new PR’s in everything.

with your background in treating folks with Bi-polar, what are your thoughts on using supplements and nutritional guidelines to treat vs medications? I was very serious wehn i said Spike and lots of fish oil seem to do me a world of good.

Fish oil and gallons of green tea help me a lot. When I’m not taking either I can definitely tell a difference.

  1. Fuck you

  2. Do even an iota of BASIC reading into psycho-biology, behavioural-enodcrinology and neuro-science and your errr…‘hypotheses’ are instantly disproved. Empiricism baby.

  3. Men and women who have more “spirit” and “will” in a strand of one of their pubic hairs than you could ever hope to muster in your entire body, have suffered from those “obsurdities”.

  4. If you had even the smallest amount of ability to step outside your pathologically self-absorbed and ignorant self and see the extent of damage and misery a “viewpoint” such as yours propegates, you would stop. Immediatley. And probably (hopefully) drink the kool-aid out of self-respect.

  5. No more posting from you. This is a discussion for adults.

Along with the presciption medication, and if you are not in a manic phase. Spike and fish oil are not going to help you in a manic phase of Bipolar. May help the depression side. Correct me Doogie if you say otherwise.

Oops, should have been more clear. Fish oil and green tea ALONG WITH MY MEDS do wonders for me. I can start getting down when I don’t have the fish oil and green tea. When I start on the upswing of mania, Ambien and a change in my meds are usually the only thing that helps.
