Beta Alanine and Birth Defects

i just got a couple bottles of beta alanine and in the warnings it says that it contains chemicals known in California to cause birth defects or reproductive harm. i know that warning is posted on just about every building you walk into but does anyone know why its on the beta alanine bottle? the brand is just the GNC Pro Performance line. any info would be great, thanks.

Beta alanine is not listed in California’s Proposition 65 list of chemicals, whether as beta-alanine, as 3-amino propionic acid (an alternate name), or under its CAS number, which is 107-95-9: http://oehha.ca.gov/prop65/prop65_list/files/P65single121809.pdf

So unless some other ingredient is on the list, the warning was not required. Looking at an online version of the regular label (not California) none of the other ingredients were on the list either.

EVERYTHING in California causes birth defects, except for organic patchouli. That’s why California is so messed up.
