Best Whey Protein?

I agree, if Biotest would release a bulking line to help supplement my diet, I would buy it up.

Until then Classic Grow! for me.

Alright, as long as Biotest doesnt mind this, their product is also sold on a Canadian supplement site. www.sndcanada.com It runs for 50 dollars canadian for the tubs. Yes it is only the low-carb version, but it still tastes great. And I’m not saying dont buy from this site, but i still am helping Biotest by buying thier product just I found it is cheaper to buy on SNDcanada. They also carry other Biotest products. Carbolin 19, Biotest M, Power Drive, Surge, TRIBEX, ZMA, Fahrenheit, and HOT-ROX. So us Canadians do have an alertenative to the high costs of shipping from the US. And if I’ve angered Biotest or any of the contribuitors, I apologize, i was just trying to let my fellow Canadians relize that Biotest products are within our reach, without the high shipping costs that come with shipping from the states.

Whole milk and eggs,my favorite protein source.

My problem is this:
1)It is my understanding that Grow! is intended as an MRP, not as a PWO supplement. I prefer real food and don’t rely on any MRP’s. Call me old-school.
2)Biotests PWO supplement, Surge, is rather expensive, especially for college students. $2.00 a serving.

I want Biotest to offer a 100% whey protein intended for PWO. It is easy enough to add a sugary drink myself, and much cheaper. For this reason, I buy ON’s whey.

On a side note, some of us are willing to sacrifice taste for less cost.

I usually use Grow! or ON’S all natural whey, but lately I’ve started using Whey healtheir vanilla protein. It’s the best tasting out there and you also get the health benefits of raw milk too. It comes from organic cows that aren’t treated with antibitoics, and are given no growth hormones. And since they’re grass fed,it is pretty high in CLA and omega 3.I think this is the best tasting protein ,and the healthiest,so far.

Wow. Can’t you guys let a dead thread lie? What’s up with bringing up the old shit?

Gimme a break people. Biotest itself recognizes that a cheaper protein is needed. And they’re making one. And you’re deluded if you think any supplemental protein you are taking during the day when you are eating frequently needs to have micellar casein in it.

Grow! is great, and probably the highest quality protein out there. Great before bed and at other times. But not necessarily superior at ALL times, especially when you consider price. Dave Barr himself (I believe) has said that he doesn’t think micellar casein would benefit anybody particularly when their next meal is two hours away.

I would bet that nobody on this web site is monetarily benefiting from mentioning which proteins they have used.

No, but that really isn’t the point which continues to elude you.

Point understood. This is a discusion about whey protein. Not everyone has used Grow!.

Understanding your point, the author should have made the subject read “Best whey protein, but only mention Grow!”?? I don’t think that what he was looking for and as far as getting info from this site, yes it is informative but who’s to say myself or the rest of us haven’t contributed some useful information, making the web site even that much more valuable??

I’ll say it. You have 26 posts to your credit. Your contribution to the site has been minimal.

The poster who posted this:

"I buy the cosco stuff also and it’s working well for me. 19.99 for 6 pounds and I haven’t noticed any problems with it. I’m adavancing in weight lifted and in size.

It’s good give it a try."

Has 17 posts under his belt.

Now you may be Eistein and fucking Carl Sagan but there is little evidence of it as yet.

To mention other products you have used and your opinion of them is one matter.

To come on this site, to the supplement forum, acknowledge that you haven’t even tried the products offered here, and direct people to Costco is tacky and classless.

If you’d like I can use caps and insert some dashes between the letters so you can read slower.

I have to disagree Sabrina. The benefits of Grow! have been touted. If someone is looking for a WHEY protein, there is no reason anyone should tell them they should only think about Grow!.

There are benefits to whey protein. Thib feels the best PWO shake is a serving of Surge, a scoop of whey protien, and a scoop of Power Drive. If someone wanted to use this protocal, they would not want to substitute whey protein with Metabolic Drive. There are other times and reasons why whey protein might be preferable to some people at some times. Biotest has nothing to worry about. Most us here love and use Grow!, largely if not exclusively.

Some of the people from this site seem upset that someone would come on here and recommend a cheaper protein. I think you’re crazy getting upset at it - all that will happen is people might go and try the cheaper protein, realise it is shite, and come back in force to Metabolic Drive.

I’m no protein expert but I have tried a lot of brands and have the advantage that my body knows - really knows, and really fast - if something is quality or not.

Metabolic Drive is bloody good stuff. It’s also the only one yet that tastes good in water alone. And yet isn’t too sweet (a lot of American brands are just way too sweet).

I mix it with sparkling mineral water. It froths up like a vanilla spider.

I would like to see a cheaper version of Metabolic Drive without the casein, for bulk useage. That’d be great. Sure it might be only a few bucks cheaper but it would be used IN BULK. I’m sure others would go for it too.

And Biotest recognizes this. And I believe it’s in the works. When it comes out, I will purshse it for protein supplementation at certain times, while using Metabolic Drive at other times. Till then, I will continue to use another brand for some of my protein supplemenation.

Be realistic here. Yes Grow! Tastes Great…and it’s a fantastic quality…and it’s REASONABLY priced for what they put in it…BUT
It’s far too much money for someone that uses a lot of it.

If you’re looking to use a lot of the stuff go with a cheaper on like Optimun Nutritions or Protein Usa’s…but if you’re only looking to use Grow! on a limited basis, buy it.
I’ve found that when you mix Grow! with other protein powders they taste a lot better too. [/quote]

What’s cheaper than Grow!? Take your calculator and scale to market. There is no whole food cheaper than Grow! on a gram per protien basis, not tuna, milk, eggs, etc.

The only thing cheaper is… cheaper quality protien powder. So this crap about it being reasonalbe but not affordable if you use alot is crap. You’d spend more on whole food.

Grow! is the best.

I use a lot of protein powder and I no longer use anything other than Grow!. I’d rather spend my money on quality products that crap like ON.

well i think that ON is about as good as anyother protien outthere though Metabolic Drive is awesome also i consider them to be two seperate supplements on for over night anabolic and one for quick glycogen restoring but hey just becuase you dont have a person like for a product doesnt mean that the product is crap…
