I got off T4 meds about 4 months ago (slightly hypothyroid) about 6 months ago, after a 4 year treatment.
My Bloodwork shows that I am now slightly Hypo, but also that my potassium and Sodium are low.
I assume I can make my natural T3 levels much better with smarter supplement choices. As I have no Hashimoto or anything in my family.
I would like to test the option of poor nutrient intake causing the bad bloodwork.
So what is a good supplement stack for the Thyroid, and if you have a spare minute, could you explain shorty what makes it good ?
Low potassium and low sodium may be an indicator of low Aldosterone. Your adrenals could very well be whacked out as well.

good catch.
OP try this
In a darkened room, sit in a chair in front of a mirror. Holding the flashlight at the side of your head, shine it across one eye (not into the eye). Watch what happens in the mirror.
You should see your pupil contract immediately after the light hits the eye. The pupil will normally stay contracted, but if you have adrenal fatigue, the pupil won’t be able to hold its contraction and will dilate. This dilation will take place within 2 minutes and last for about 30-45 seconds before it contracts again. Time how long the dilation lasts and record it along with the date. Retest monthly as it serves as an indicator of recovery.
Regarding the Iodine, is this something that could only benefit me at this point ?
Is there something more cost effective than those pills suggested ?
Bloodwork - I will get it. I assume I am going to ask:
TSH, FT3 FT4
Sodium potassium Feritin
Anything else important ? Note that I can’t ask extremely specific tests, because the insurance needs a reason for each.
So what do you guys need to know ? I’ll go tomorrow.
Pupils - They contract straight away- but after a second they expand and contract again like a bouncing ball.

start with kelp pills. they contain iodine. dirt cheap too. as far as the pupils go, dilating that soon after shining the light is a good sign of adrenal fatigue.
Regarding the adrenal fatigue, do you suggest a temporary shift to Bodybuilding-light training (rather than current olympic lifting) and no stimulants ?
Is there a nice little adrenal booster available for purchase or is it a matter of balancing my Thyroid and bloodwork ?

The Iodine product you listed isnt bad, about the same as most kelp products, but I would just pay the extra money and get either Lugols or Iodoral. Much more bang for your buck.
If you want to look into Adrenal Fatigue look up Adrenal Fatigue by Wilson.
Alright, just gave some blood samples for testing.
My insurance only covers TSH alone, and if it’s above 3-4 the lab will automatically calculate T3 and T4. Idiots !!!
But I guess better than nothing.
D3,B12,Sodium,Potassium will be counted as well
Hopefully this will give a clear picture of what I need to order or at worse - prescribe
Please check back here tomorrow !
In that case I would just get Free T3 tested as well and pay for it yourself. You can get it from privatemdlabs.com or just check the box off and pay it to your insurance company although I’m not sure which would be cheaper… Think PMD Labs is like $40 for Free T3.
TSH is 4.8 … Within their range so they did not do T3.
So you are telling me that supplementing with the Iodine alone can drop this value a bit ?
I know from past treatments of T4 that when I am at 2.0 TSH I coudln’t be more of a fat burn machine.
I was a steady 8% there not even with a perfect diet or conditioning work.
What is the range for TSH? I can’t say for sure that the Iodine and Selenium will have an effect but some people do see results from it. I would pay for the Free T3 myself if I were you.
