Best Pocket Cam

What say the T-Mag tech-people?

Flip Mino, Kodak Zi8, or something else? I’ve read th reviews online, but trust the knowledgeable of th forum to guide me true.

Also tits.

Perfect thread. My digital camera broke and I want to keep recording my lifts, so I’m thinking of one of those mini video camera whoosy-whatsies. I’ve only read this: Best action cameras of 2022 - CNET

Flip video is easiest to use and upload. I upgraded to a Sony hand held and my Flip is still easier to edit and view on my computer.

kodak playsport. much better quality than the flip and its waterproof up to ten feet which is cool filming under water. I’m going to bermuda this upcoming week and will have plenty of videos from my playsport to upload of both on land and under water.
also has some pretty good editing features and with once you upload your videos onto you computer you can upload them to youtube, facebook or twitter with one click

heres a youtube video compairing the flip and the playsport. Kodak PlaySport vs. Flip Ultra HD (side-by-side) - YouTube

The Flip is awesome because it is simple. No headphone jack, no flip out screen, no memory cards or any of that bullshit. I’d buy a better camera if I had the excuse to, but so far my flip does the job.

Unfortunately, it also has no “steady shot” and limited zoom. That was why I got the Sony but the sony won’t upload without converting the video file first.

Are you looking for more technical kinda filming, or are you just wanting good quality to film lifting, friends, etc?

If you’re just looking for ‘daily life’ kind of recording, I’d look into a digital camera with HD video capabilities. That way you get a nice digital camera, it’s easy to carry and use and upload.

The Panasonic Lumix line has some good HD digital cameras.

I have a Kodak Zi8. It’s my first foray into pocket cams, but I like it. It’s light, easy to use and it comes with software that lets you upload your vids directly to youtube. You are limited to the amount of space on those SD flash memory cards. I have an 8 gig card that allows about 2 hours of video on the lowest setting, and just under an hour at the HD setting. The quality really isn’t all that great though, some of my videos come out grainy.

Anyway, it’s a pretty good camera for what I use it for. I have only used to it to record concerts and shows, and it’s been a good camera for that.

Thanks for the input. Went with the Playsport after seeing Relentless’ vid, and a demo at BestBuy.

I’m not worried about ease-of-edit, as I’ve got a pretty powerful video editing suite.

The cam will be primarily for my biz; blogs, demonstrations, eDVD products. But of course, gotta get some good vids of the gym.

just figured I’d throw this up here. Video I took with the playsport while in bermuda.
