the lord of darkness from the movie Legend…not number one, but certainly well played by tim curry.
Mr. Blonde (Micheal Madson in Reservoir Dogs)
Angel Eyes (Lee Van Cleef in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly)
Two great movies…

OUCH! Thanks for the memories… Unmitigated cruelty. Not to mention the dude might not be such a success on the piano anymore
But seriously a great villian needs to embody some human qualities that we can all identify with, animated, imaginary, sci-fi or otherwise.
I’m sure some of the T-Nation crowd always roots for the bad guy,the guys in black hats. I know when I’m watching a movie & the “hero” is some lameass I’m always rooting hoping he gets smoked to set it up for another “hero” to come in & open a bigger can of whupass
Yep…guilty for cheering on the bad guy. It’s just cinema.
I went to see Avatar on the weekend and when the “good” guys started to go down I was chuckling a little and got the stink eye from some fossil sitting near me. It’s not like I was howling with laughter either.

This thread can end right here.
There is only one villian who is the most badass of all.
Only one villian in the entire history of cinema who has accomplished a feat no other villian has come close to:
Defeating the Arnold.
I give you:
Cactus Jack
In no particular order,
Javier Bardem - No Country for Old Men - fuck the storyline, admire this guy’s juggernaut persistence.
Kevin Spacey - Usual Suspects and Se7en - superb in everything.
Christoph Waltz - Inglorious Basterds - deserved every gram of that Oscar.
Heath Ledger - Dark Knight - deserved more than Oscar.
Robert De Niro - Cape Fear - classic.
Al Pacino - Devil’s Advocate - he’s just brilliant.
Special Mention : Vader and Voldemort.
Is Captain Howdy from The Exorcist a Villain?

Good to see you back.
DeNiro as Capone, that face he makes while he’s bashing that guy’s head in with the baseball hat
Richard Gere in Internal Affairs, when he beats the shit out of Anthony Garcia in the elevator the throws a pair of panties in his face and tells him to clean himself up and as he turns to go says,“by the way, those belong to your wife, I fucked her in the ass and made her cum”
I couldn’t wait for him to get killed
I’m with Clyde Shelton from Law Abiding Order. Son of a Bitch was in jail! Come on!
Really I just like the villains who make you want to cheer for them.
