You’ve never heard of Novorapid because it’s called Novolog in the US. I personally prefer to use post-workout when the muscles insulin sensitivity is high and you want to block protein breakdown and switch on synthesis. I simply inject, sip on whey while I wait for the insulin to kick in and at an appropriate time(based on experience) I start eating complex carbs to make sure there is enough glucose in my system to not get too close to hypo,but with slow carbs and waiting till the exo insulin kicks in, hopefully not trigger a huge endo spike. Just kind of taking the effects of a simple carb pwo spike a step further with measured doses of injected insulin. Not dumping a bunch of suger in my system while injecting a bunch of insulin on top of it like a lot of pwo protocols. I like the reasoning behind BBB’s protocol also.
As for the 12 weeks at three times a week. It’s probably ok, but I would do an oral glucose tolerance test sometime in the middle to make sure you aren’t getting too insulin resistant. Just make sure to do one before you start so you know what your normal numbers are.

ya… it is looking more like this is the sort of protocol that is the most sensible as far as resistance and as far as minimising fat too.

Good thinking. I wish I would have done an oral glucose test before and after my 5 weeks use of 5 PWO injections/week last winter. It would be interesting to see the difference between the 2 protocols from an insulin resistance standpoint.

I’ve been using slin immediately post workout
Followed 15 minutes later by a dextrose/protein shake
Followed 45-60 minutes later by a carb/protein meal
In addition to an AAS cycle.
Will be currently adding it in the AM I think once I am off cycle and stay with post work out as well in hopes to keep gains.
bushido are you saying that my post workout shake/protocol is wrong as I am not supposed to be consuming sugar with insulin as it is counter productive?
I wont answer for Mr. BBB, but have you noticed any gains from your use of slin? Any extra muscle/fat etc…?

I’m on my 3rd vial/cycle of Humalog at the moment and yes definite gains. Used both while not on AAS and with. Without AAS it didn’t do nearly as much.
Fat gains can be controlled. I stay away from fat when the slin is active. Also I try not to use the slin as an excuse to over eat carbs.
I’ve upped the dose which I probably will not do next time because I think at higher doses I’ve become less responsive to the slin over time. And at higher doses I don’t see any more muscle gains.
I’m confused by some of the posts in this thread about the slin carb shake.
Maybe I misread but I though I read someone recommend that dextrose/malto are not good and simple carbs such as oats are better?
Is this not dangerous when the whole point of dextrose/malto is used because they are quickly absorbed which is needed when using slin?

I’ve posted it somewhere before, but I’ve used as much as 30iu/day two days on one off, and then 20-30iu every day for two weeks and in a month I gained ten pounds and didn’t put on fat. I wouldn’t say it’s really that magical though compared to the magic of steroids. On a scale of HMB to Steroids I’d put it right in the middle.
On another note, I took an OGTT after that heavy cycle and was fine. I also got blood tests done last fall after some heavy use and blood glucose and insulin were fine. However, I’ve been doing 15iu pwo twice a week for awhile now and haven’t been monitoring my blood sugar much. This morning I took my level after the overnight fast and it was 111! Not good.
I’ve been going through a lot of problems and stress/anxiety/depression and that could be partly responsible for the high reading,especially last night and this mornings anxiety, but I think I need to check things out closer to make sure nothings wrong and re-evaluate my use. I think a lot of regular testing and an OGTT is in my future. So maybe my current protocol isn’t good. I’ll try to keep updates on what I discover.
