Best Horror Movies Thread

Honestly “The Begotten” looks horrifyingly boring but one of the critics quotes “Makes ‘Eraserhead’ look like ‘Ernest saves Christmas’” is fan-fucking-tastic.
The trailer actually doesn’t do it justice, and I’m just speaking about this because I saw clips in a music video.

no mention of Nightmare on Elm Street?
DAMN straight dude! The original was the best, still creeps me out if I watch it, got the dvd in my room, lol. But the remake this year was such bullshit, I sat their bored outa my skull thinking why god oh why can society not make decent remakes, and when they do, why fuck with classics? Lol next thing we know we gonna be remaking Jaws or something.

But in the OP’s post, why is DEATH PROOF mentioned? That isn’t a horror. period.

Oh and I gotta say Paranormal Activity was soul crushing haha!

that movie was awful. I would have been so pissed if I paid to see that in a theater.

There’s your problem…

In the theater was a completely different experience watching that movie than at home…

Everyone around you is tense and screaming and covering their eyes … Honestly, the movie didn’t “do it” for me either but watching it in the theater made me like the movie just based on the atmosphere and people’s reaction to the movie.

Just found out about Begotten. To be honest I don’t have the cojones to watch this fucking thing.

Has anyone seen it?
that’s fucking crazy. i wanna experience that film.

just looking at some info on that on wiki, the director also did a video for marilyn manson that didn’t get released for 14yrs…odd.

I don’t remember Decent but I’ll look for it.

The Thing with Kurt Russell, the special effects in that movie were fucking great for the time, even now imo. Don’t bother with the original.

Carrie.

Amityville Horror, 3:15 am lol.

I don’t watch horrer flicks much anymore, I’m a scaredey cat

X2 on Tremors, great movie, watched it a couple weeks ago.

Doubt it, I’d probably be laughing at people that are scared at a movie that was NOT scary.

I have a list of faves, but the one that leads the pack for me is “The Descent”.
Something about that film just shook me to the core. The soundtrack is a masterpiece and fits so well with the visuals, it just gets under your skin.
what is so scary about blind anemic humanoids?
aside from that the cave related troubles were scary.

does anybody else hate the movie “drag me to hell”? i hate that movie. then i found out that other people liked it, and that it won awards.
the movie isnt scary, it just wants to be disgusting and show an old gypsy drooling, and oozing. and the main character fights with the old gypsy’s corpse a few times. and one time is a hallucination. so she fights a corpse for no reason. just so the audience can see her eyes pop out.

It was produced by Sam Raimi of “Evil Dead” fame, so naturally people are going to herald it as a masterpiece. I admit that it had some good parts, and some parts that reminded me of Evil Dead, but overall it was a dud. What I hated most about that movie was that scrawny douche nugget cheeser Justin Long. I can’t stand him. I think if I were to ever meet him in person I would punch him in the face, just to see what he would do. Ugh, I can’t stand that doucher.

I liked The Descent but, it was not scary. I have not been scared by a movie since Childs Play and Leprechaun and I was pretty young.

I thought it was one of the shittest movies I have ever seen. There was never a moment that I thought “this is scary”, I honestly laughed a few times. How that movie got any funding is beyond me lol

I love that movie. It’s hilarious and entertaining.

Think of it as comedy, not horror.

I’m with you, however back in college Wrong Turn and 13 Ghosts were a bit scary. Granted, I was about 10 miles from the WV border in the mountains watching Wrong Turn

Reckon my favorite horror flick was that movie made in 1982 with the characters:
R.J MacReady, Bennings, Nauls, Palmer, Dr. Blair, Childs, Clark, Gary, Fuchs, Windows, Norris and Dr. Copper. Forget the title, but it was set in Outpost #31.

just watched Donnie Darko, weird f-in movie. On to another weird one Jacob’s Ladder.

The probably Dead Snow to cap off the night

Tetsuo The Iron Man - Drill sex scene - YouTube whoa.
