A lot of people thought Montee Ball was going to be the man this year, but I didn’t think so. He was definitely a huge disappointment

I think the Chargers have a great shot this year. They barely missed the playoffs last year and that was with one of the toughest final stretches of any team in 2014. Add AP and they’d be a force.
I think they can win the division over Denver.
Denver really needs to get another quality RB. Anderson will make a good RB2 but the rest of them scare you to death with by being fumble prone. The Chargers need a RB that can actually start 16 games.

Ya. If Denver can find another Davis I’d pick them to win the AFC next year.
Terrell Davis was great, but he benefited from a solid offensive line, and Mike Shanahan great running schemes. It seems like every back after Davis were having incredible years.

Edit: Maybe look at a quality backup like Knile Davis who looks like they could be a RB1. But KC would be foolish to let him go, especially in the division.

Ironically, see my edit (included in this quote).
I see you weren’t talking about Terrell Davis.
Bringing up another issue: Where do you guys think Ray Rice will end up this year. You know someone is gonna take a chance on him.

Usmcc was. I wasn’t. I was commenting on the coincidence.
My bad you were talking about Terrell Davis, but bringing up the irony of mentioning Knile Davis.

No I was talking about USMC said if they found another Terrell Davis, but only used the last name, to which I then brought up the irony of mentioning a Davis (Knile) one page earlier in an edit.
I see man. So where do you think Ray Rice will end up. I also feel like if Darren McFadden ends up in a good situation he can be a great player. Just think of what Oakland did to Randy Moss.

Disagree with Franco. Dorsett, Allen, and Thomas were all very great, but I wouldn’t put them in the GOAT conversation. My top 5 rbs are:
Barry sanders
Walter Payton
Jim Brown
Curtis Martin (Most Underrated Ever)
Marshall Faulk / Eric Dickerson
You have Curtis Martin in the top 5 RBs in history?
And Marshal Faulk slashed with Eric Dickerson? Marshal Faulk was a bad mother fucker though.
MArtin is great, no doubt, but to put him two spots about Smith… Nah son, no way.
Thing about Faulk is he is in the GOAT convo for today’s NFL. (Dude had like 750 career catches, lol), but old school… I don’t know.

Eh, the Chargers barely miss the playoffs every year. They always seem to be in contention for a playoff spot and it rarely works out for them.
I expect minimal improvements and more of the same for 2015.
Even if they grabbed AP, he’ll be 30 this year and the Chargers offensive line isn’t that great, IIRC.
Yeah I may have oversold Curtis Martin a bit. He was one of two guys to have 10 consecutive 1000 yard seasons, but he shouldn’t be top 5.
So where do you guys think Ray Rice will end up.
This should have been my top 5
Barry Sanders
Walter Payton
Jim Brown
Marshall Faulk / Eric Dickerson
Emmitt Smith

That’s a top 6.
yeah when your right your right
I don’t think it’s outrageous to have Curtis Martin up there
Beans makes a good point about Faulk, which circles back around to how hard it is to compare guys from different eras. Faulk landed on the right team in the right offense with a stud QB and a coach that would use him…and notched some of the best offensive seasons (by all purpose yardage) in history.
What’s more valuable: a guy that leads the league in rushing with a few token catches, or one that puts up 1200 rushing and 800 receiving yards? Most people would pick the first guy because the first thing we do when we check out RBs is look at their rushing total, but Faulk offered a receiving threat like few other RBs ever…on top of being an elite rusher,
He definitely belongs in that top 5 conversation.

Neither do I, I just think blasting him up above Emmitt is a bit much imo is all.
