For stereo sound you probably don’t even need a sound card. If you do decide to get one, most $30-$40 cards will work just fine. The higher end cards are for surround sound and such. If you are looking to spend money I would invest in an additional powered subwoofer, especially for techno.
I’m thinking about just buying a set of floor speakers. Any suggestions? Whats the main difference?

Why not go to an electronics store and test out some of what they have, if you’re unsure?
Or, buy the Klipsch set from Amazon and if you don’t like it then send it back.
