Best Anime Ever Thread

Me and some friends used to enjoy the Fatal Fury movies when we were young. I also remember the Street Fighter movie to be pretty good (but not SF Alpha, remember the fight scenes being pretty weak).

I really enjoyed Gundam Wing.

I’m surprised only one person mentioned Guyver.

I really liked the second Vampire Hunter D movie.

Has anyone mentioned any of the myriad of Anime porn movies? My first ex had one with Angels and Demons. The Demons were the good guys and the Angels were bad and had framed the demons or something like that. It was an actual movie, but had crazy sex scenes littered about. It’s been a long time since I saw it, but I remember finding it to be pretty entertaining.

I’ve seen the whole movie now. I didn’t realize they were going to cover only the golden age arc in all 3 movies. I realize now that makes sense, though.
Hopefully these movies are successful enough to warrant further films covering after everything goes to shit.

Any good new ones?

been reading Hajime no Ippo, finally he is taking on the world stage!

still recommend Trinity Blood, Needless, and Black Butler (all on Netflix). Saw an earlier post of yours and have Code Geass on the way. Am in the middle of Kenichi which is not bad.

You should watch the anime too. it’s really entertaining and funny until the end. im just starting to read it now.

It’s on…

Just watched the second Berserk flick. I enjoyed it much more than the first. The first one just had this clean smoothness to it that I didn’t care for and didn’t really impress me. I had seen the original series and read the manga but it just let me down a bit. However, after watching this one, I am going to go back and rewatch it. I am betting that I will enjoy it more now seeing it more as a part of the whole arc.

The copy I watched was great, subs were what you expect. The Legion subs are apparently much better than the other copy out there. I heard they want to continue after the III film into the Black Swordsman arc which might be interesting. I see this being a great set of films like the Hellsing Ultimate was to the original TV adaptation.

I just finished up Samurai Shamploo about a week ago. Pretty baller anime. Good plot and action(although it was sorta limited).

Gonna have to find another good one to get into. Too bad High School for the Dead doesn’t have more episodes :\

Anybody watch the recent Live Action Rouroni Kenshin film yet? Heard its pretty damn good

Yup, I have. I had never watched the original anime series when I saw it but it was great. I mentioned on another thread that I never seen an anime adapted well to live action but after watching some of the anime for Kenshin, the movie is much better. I actually won’t continue with the anime, it’s just not that good.

The action isn’t non-stop in the movie, there is a plot but none of it looks half-assed and cheap. Again, I saw this after recently watching the live action version of the anime Basilisk called Shinobi and that was awful. The actions scenes here are nice because they pull back to let you see things rather than the standard zoomed in/hyper quick cuts to make it look fast way they shoot action in most films these days. Some good sword fighting, some funny scenes and what not. Worth a watch for sure. Makes you want to swing a sword and that is a good thing.

LOL awesome, thats what I am talking about I don’t understand why they can’t do high quality filming and action scenes, dialogue and story in more live action films… The animes themself have great material to go off, then all of a sudden the film just meshes all this crap together and comes out with just garbage… Why can’t they make some Live Action films with the great storyline and action of these shows and then add great filming, direction, and film work like that of the movie Ip Man, must be something to do with serious directors and producers not being interested in that type of thing… though with the right set crew there is always potential, Id pay plenty to watch a really awesome Live action Bleach film, though the story in that would be too hard to condense so maybe that is the problem…

If you’re not watching Attack on Titan, you need to watch it

I am and enjoying it quite a bit. The only issue I have is that they do that lazy animation at times where they play the sound of a battle or people talking while the camera pans over a still image. It’s as if I am listening to an audiobook while looking at a comic. BUT, that is about the only thing. I like the story, the characters are getting well developed, and they have a lot to go on story-wise.

For those not watching, it’s about humanity’s battle with these mindless giants who only eat humans. Civilization was almost wiped out so they built a refuge behind three gigantic circular walls taller than the tallest giant. Life goes on for a 100 years and then one day…Anyway, here is the trailer. Oh, just editing to add that if you are searching for it, you might find it easier under it’s Japanese name Shingeki no Kyojin. Now here is the trailer.

I actually find myself liking that attribute.

Really? I just don’t get it. I might as well get some pencil crayons out, colour in a couple of panels from the manga and stare at them while playing background noise. I didn’t like it in the original Berserk series and not here, just takes me out of the story. I mean, it’s animation, let’s animate something people.

But great series nonetheless, would recommend without a doubt. Came across it by accident and glad I didn’t pass it by.

Been watching it as well, nice to see a more mature theme compared to other things lately, great story and character development just sucks that they kill so many of them off… I went ahead and read the manga so ahead of the spot in the anime right now… Speaking of manga has anyone been following Bleach lately? Ichigo had his zangetsu change once again, I feel like they can’t decide how to make him look or something, there must of been at least 6 or 7 re designs since the start of Bleach.

I really don’t read manga myself, more a comics guy. But I heard after they cancelled the Bleach anime that the current storyline in the manga will mark the end for Bleach. I am hoping they then bring back the series to finish it properly. Just too many things left open at the end of that Fullbring arc in the anime.

Yes you are right, it is also the longest arc in the series so may take a while… I believe after they finish the arc they will start another season in the anime to go along with it, it is far too popular and lucrative of an opportunity for anyone not to take up. As far as I know it they ended the anime for now because there is not enough script left since the 1000 year arc is still very early in… I just hope to god they don’t add any more filler if they do decide to finish off the series that would be the only thing to kill any serious ratings.
