Abstract

Clarifying the relationship of sex hormones to preclinical atherosclerosis could illuminate pathways by which androgens are associated with cardiovascular events and mortality. Our aim was to determine hormone profiles associated with carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) and carotid atheroma, in men with and without known coronary artery disease (CAD). We included 492 community-based men aged 20-70 years (Group A) and 426 men with angiographically proven CAD aged <60 years (Group B). Fasting early morning sera were assayed for testosterone (T), dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and estradiol (E2) using mass spectrometry. CIMT and carotid plaque were assessed ultrasonographically. Mean (±SD) age was Group A: 53.8±12.6 and Group B: 49.6±5.1 years. Higher T was associated with reduced CIMT (-0.011 mm per 1-SD increase, p=0.042) and lower prevalence of carotid plaque (odds ratio [OR] per 1-SD increase, 0.68, p=0.012) in Group A, but not B. E2 was associated with increased CIMT in Group A (0.013 mm, p=0.011) but not B. Higher DHT and E2 were associated with reduced carotid plaque in Group B (DHT: OR=0.77, p=0.024; E2: OR=0.75, p=0.008), but not A. In community-dwelling men, higher T is associated with favourable CIMT and lower prevalence of carotid plaque, while higher E2 is associated with worse CIMT. In men with CAD, higher DHT or E2 are associated with less carotid plaque. T, DHT and E2 are differentially associated with preclinical carotid atherosclerosis in a cardiovascular phenotype-specific manner. Interventional studies are needed to examine effects of exogenous T and its metabolites DHT and E2, on atherogenesis.

I respond what hes talking about. He answers with a print-screen of my message on here telling people they are stupid if they actually suggest high doses “have no harm”.

After that, he stops responding completely, ignoring the message all together.

That, combined with his endlessly shit-talking on here, “delusional”, “absolute idiot”, “ghost”, aswell as his CAPITAL LETTERS, make me seriously questioning what the f is going on with his mind. He acts literally like a woman on PMS, and he is like 45 years old? A 45 year old man acting like a 11 year old girl spering out on everyone who dont agree.

Sorry bossa, I agree with many things you say, but some stuff is absolutely stupid and you seem to have emotional issues. Maybe that is one side effect from your e2, if you wasnt acting that way before, I dont know.

Sir you will be missed, however if you believe abstaining from social media is the right decision (and it probably is, social media is a plague on our society today, the only benefit being you can communicate with those who you otherwise wouldn’t be able to like family overseas and whatnot) and you’ve made up you’re mind that’s all that matters.

The one medical professional challenged the other dude to a fight (looking at posts now), I can’t tell if this is serious or not, it reeks of unprofessionalism. Idk if it’s because I’m short but I never START fights, the instigator is the one who can get charged with assault when all is said and done. I find the best way to deal with violence is to attempt to walk away, then if said person swings at you while you’re trying to diffuse the situation all bets are off and you can use the plausible excuse of self defence.

I am about 20% at the moment. At my best 12%, but thats as lean as I have ever been.

I am an endomorph, I don’t get square. BB is not for me. Really large chest, 52 inches. Waist 36.

I’m also an endomorph, not large like that though. I believe I have at the moment

29 inch waist
46 inch chest
small armz
broad shoulders (don’t remember measurement)
rather large neck (17 1/2 inch)

I’m 5’5, 160lb or something so unfortunately rather small, however the shape my body acquires (the square, thick, blocky look albeit on a rather small frame) screams endomorph somatype

Yes you are in much better shape than me right now. I should be 265-270. I have been scuba diving for the last 2 years, about 3 times per week.

You cannot workout vigorously within 24 hours or you risk pulmonary embolism.

I want to get into diving medicine, with the rise in popularity there is a need for doctors to also understand diving. A lot of these guys are with the fire department, police department and are part of the rescue dive team.

Nobody understands the risk associated with hormones and diving. I want to break into this new niche era.

You’re far more muscular than I am, bone structure and genetics somewhat dictate measurements.

Anabolic steroids and hormones in general furthermore increase platelet aggregation (though certain clotting factors are decreased with use of oxandrolone, stanozolol etc) and thus would greatly increase you’re risk of blood clots and pulmonary embolism. I don’t know whether you’re on TRT or gear/PED’s, however hypothetically either could furthermore increase you’re risk thus I understand. Diving in itself should theoretically provide a hefty dose of aerobic training no?

I’ve been deep sea diving twice I believe (both times in third world countries… so less regulation)

I remember when I was young (about eight) I learnt about decompression sickness from my uncle… the thought of it gave me nightmares for a while.

Not really, the idea is to keep your heart rate down. Although when you shoot an African pompano and a 8 foot bull shark charges you that may change.

A lot of my chest size is actually cavity, so I may not have as much muscle as your imagining. This is why I suck down so much air when diving, because the lungs can expand indefinitely and are only restricted by cavity.

So I am not in terrible shape because there is some effort to hauling tanks, getting set up, fighting current, but nothing like if I could work out 5 days a week.

I am getting back into it now, as the summer season is ending and waves will be picking up, I won’t be diving as much and won’t have a reason not to work out. I imagine I will drop 20 pounds pretty fast.

I posted my lab work earlier in this thread, that is one of the reasons I am on such a conservative cruise dosage, which @dbossa mocked me for of course.

Saying this leads me to believe you blast, which probably isn’t something you’d wish to disclose on a public forum if you’re identity is up there (no issue with those using supra doses, I dabble here and there myself).

You ever use beta blockers? I find they’re great for social interaction (I have autism, generalised anxiety and thus due to extensive past bullying and people still treating me like shit I tend to become nervous over the concept of social interaction, and fair enough given I get rejected so frequently, not due to the way I look or interact but due to the fact people simply never take the time out of their day to put themselves in somoeone else’s shoes and think “huh, I wonder what it feels like to be him, having moved countries knowing nobody and attempting to join our conversation”), that and teenagers are dicks. Anyhow beta blockers amoreliate much of the physiological symptoms off anxiety as they reduce beta adrenergic receptors sensitivity to that of catecholamine release yeet. I mean they CAN fuck up you’re glucose tolerance/insulin sensitivity but I’ve never noticed much change on my labs from a low dose

What’s you’re current dose though?

100mg of TC and 50mg of Prop every 10 days or so.

My Free T drops all the way down to about 9 before I do another shot. I imagine it comes close to 20 at peak. I use HCG to get bumps off baseline along the way.

I don’t really blast, but I would be more aggressive. I would not let my levels maintain supra through their trough anymore though. Back when I first tried T when I was 27, maybe.

@increasemyt you posted, yet again, another observational study of baseline men not on TRT. You have not provided an interventional study because in every study of that nature where they administered testosterone or E2, the patient improved. I realize you still haven’t learned the difference between the two. Doesn’t matter how many times we explain it, you don’t get it. It’s OK. Not everyone was cut out to be intelligent.

I think the notion of agree to disagree should be conveyed here to deter future argument and insults. This is supposed to be a friendly community in which people unite to help one another and talk about protocols, not insult and undermine one another

I understand individualistic frustration in regard to others criticising an educated opinion/belief one has, however everyone is theoretically open to interpretation of data and others aforementioned opinions. As long as the original person displaying whatever opinion doesn’t have intent to harm, I think disagreements could, in theory be settled with friendly conversation and rational arguement/dispute without getting so far out of hand

None of you find that the least bit odd? Everything points to a fraud. Every single business owner I know has content online, a facebook page, videos, ads, articles… something? Anything? Photos of the owner with his happy clients? Something? You don’t feel it is just a tad suspicious that this guy has none of this whatsoever? All underground hidden in the dark stuff? But we should all listen to him, correct?
