Oh definitely possible, the gym actually “belongs” to the school’s strongman’s club in which I’m part of the committee. I’m the quartermaster actually so requisitioning new equipment is actually part of my list of responsibilities. I’ll definitely see what I can do but them damn processes usually take forever, maybe I just might donate them to the club.
Good idea. The tiles shouldn’t be too pricey.

changed the Seated Barbell Curl to Seated Dumbbell 21s
couldn’t do the 5x20 bench dips so I just did 200+ reps of band push downs instead
Typing this on the 24/4/16 and holy shit, I think I can actually feel my arm growing.

##Tried grappling for the first time.
Well, this isn’t exactly that much of a training log post considering I didn’t train but meh, I’ll add it in anyways. Currently having my school’s annual CCA (co curricular activities) fair and I’ll be helping out at the strongman booth for today and the next 2 days. Tried grappling with some of the MMA guys and it was pretty dang awesome. Went 4 bouts/rounds(I’m not sure what the proper term is) with 4 different people.
Round 1 - Went up against one of the MMA guys who looked 5-10kgs lighter than me, kinda somewhat destroyed him. Literally picked him up and threw him down on the mats in about 20 seconds.
Round 2 - This was immediately after round 1, no rest. They sent one of their better guys, guy looked 90-ish kgs and needless to say, I got destroyed. Out techniqued(duh) and out strengthed by the guy.
Round 3 - 15 minutes later, went up against some other guy(who has no fight experience, like me, as far as I know) who weighed 85-ish kgs, took him out in 5 seconds. That was fucking amazing, picked him up, threw him down.
This quote from the @T3hPwnisher came to mind “The fun happens when you’re crushing people in whatever activity you do when you can win by sheer force of will and strength regardless of skill, that’s fun.”
That was one hellava adrenaline rush.
Round 4 - 15 minutes later, went up against another guy(around the same weight as me, 5-10cm taller than me, seems to have had martial arts background), we went for a good 10 minutes-ish, got the drop on him at the start and holy shit, he was hella slippery. Eventually, I gave up cause well, I was just out of breath and shit.
Overall, grappling is kinda fun and damn I would love to try more, too bad wrestling isn’t a big thing here in Singapore. Still not gonna try MMA or whatever, I’ll just get strong first, if I ever do, and maybe I’ll try it in the future. Oh and I’m just feel sore all over from all that twisting and shit. Interesting. Still gonna train tomorrow though.
Nothing like throwing people around in the spirit of friendly competition…
In my defense, I was smiling and laughing every single time they forced us apart. Ok, now that I think about it, it might’ve scared them a little. No wonder everyone looked at me as if I was crazy. That and screaming “I’m a lover not a fighter.” while pinning someone down doesn’t certainly doesn’t help."
Ah grappling. Was never a big fan of it, but it’s a great way to put some brute strength to use. You can overcome a lot of technique with a little strength, but then someone can also overcome a lot of strength with a little technique sometimes, haha. Glad you enjoyed it.
That’s a funny mental image right there.

Alright, lets just say my entire upper body was feeling sore as heck and I wouldn’t say it’s a strength issue, simply put, I couldn’t lock out properly cause my traps and shoulders were hella tight from the grappling.
Still helping out at the CCA fair, wore some freaking mascot costume and let’s just say that must be the best damn sauna suit ever.

I’ve tried it and it felt more like a standing incline bench of sorts. It totally takes out the involvement of my lats, at least that’s what I feel.
I never feel my lats in my press anyway. It just keeps me tighter that way.
I’ll try to explain the way it feels to the best of my abilities. Before I press, I’ll depress my shoulders and right after that it’ll just “pop” off the bottom part of the press.
This video was taken quite some time back but it does show what I mean, that lil bounce by the bar to initiate momentum before I start my actual press.
Ah, right. No, that’s very different to what I do. Mine really is what I do for bench.
