I’ve just got my results back from my first trt blood test. 17.3nmol/l Testosterone, 0.262nmol/l free testosterone. Bothe suboptimal for my age (28) but both just above the threshold for trt treatment. Been recommended to still go in for my second test but just feel like I’ve hit a wall. I’ve been dealing with low t symptoms for around 4 years now and seeing my levels are low for my age but age not being taken into account when testing makes me feel like I’ve got no options. Like am I meant to just live like this and let these symptoms get worse until I’m bellow the threshold for treatment. I’m a healthy guy, gym regularly, tree surgeon for work, don’t drink or smoke so I can’t see many lifestyle changes being the help I need
Do you have high bodyfat?
When did you get tested in relation to working out?
Both of these items can have impact on test levels and bloodwork results.
You may also want to post the bloodwork ranges. These numbers on their own mean nothing.
Hi-jacking to ask questions instead of making own thread.
What would be considered high body fat % to impact test result and also how does working out impact it?
I am planning to get some blood work done in the next week or two and just curious how workouts can impact it. Can’t do much about body fat % in that timeframe.
Hard training will result in a drop in testosterone levels. As counter intuitive as it seems, training is catabolic, while recovering is anabolic.
So is it recommended to wait 24-48 hrs after a hard workout? Or in the end it doesn’t really matter if you’re training consistently anyways
If my goal was to get the most accurate snapshot, I’d abstain from hard training for at least a day before the draw.
Just get the bloods and see where you are at.
Lab ranges? Where’s the rest of your data? E2, FSH, LH, SHBG? Any thyroid test, TSH minimally?
What are your symptoms?
