Believers: What Would You Do?

Maybe you’re the one living the lie?

No offense but thats crazy talk.
Then why don’t you explain (in detail) to all of us who Jesus Christ was?

If there were any DETAILS in recorded history of a man named Jesus being everywhere, even in Norway, even today, it wouldnt be that far fetched. He could just stop by and say “Hi”. He wasn’t even documented until about a century later, by idolizing fans.

This is an evidentialist’s field day right here and quite rightfully so in this case. See there brothers. I do have a place for evidence after all. =] Never by itself though.

You say Jesus word is the definition of truth itself, by which theory of truth? He says people who “sins” goes to gehenna, that would require some major logistics. He says if you truly believe you can walk on water. There are so many believing zealots here we could hold an on water interval sprint course.

You keep appealing to good and love as if they are concrete objects within the worldview of naturalism when it just isn’t so. Why is helping others one day not equivalent going on a chocolate binge another day if I am this CEO?

Some people are going to love others, regardless of whether or not a supernatural scorekeeper tells them to do so. Feel free to believe it’s impossible to love your children, your spouse, or your neighbor unless your god commands you. I fundamentally disagree that this is the case for everyone, and find it sad that it is the case for some.
Okay then, what is love?
A feeling of warm, personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child, or friend.
How superficial…That’s it? What about when the chips are down? What about those times of anger, indifference and exhaustion? By that definition, you are not in love or do not have love.
Criticize dictionary.com, not me. I see no reference to the supernatural in any of the three definitions listed there. Are we really down to arguing semantics?

Well I would argue that, Casey Anthony bitch who killed her baby and is throwing her dad and brother under the bus is still loved by them. That doesn’t fit the definition, because there ain’t no warm-fuzzies going on.

He continually and haughtily does this.

So her dad and brother only love her because a supernatural being told them to do so, and they wouldn’t still love her otherwise? Let’s focus on the issue instead of petty semantics.

I didn’t say that. I just used an example of love that has no way of fitting your posted definition.
Of course, Jesus did tell us to love one another, but I doubt they have to force it…They probably wish they didn’t love her, she’s evil (here’s where I would normally segway in to how what she did isn’t much different than having an aborition, but I won’t because it’s not the topic).

Like I said, I’m not going to play the semantics game. If you believe they could still love her without needing a supernatural being to tell them to do so, then we agree.
