Dude, I just got done with dealing with a very similar situation for the past 4 months (lower back, right glute/hip pain). It just kept getting progressively worse. I FINALLY broke down and went to the chiro two weeks ago. He popped the $h!t out of my SI joint and now I’m finally getting some relief!! I am sharing this story for one reason - be smarter than I was - DON’T WAIT!! Self-healing is great, but it can’t work every time. Believe me, I’ve tried… :joy:

Well, trying to get back in the swing of things. Physical health has been slowly deteriorating (read: getting softer), mental health much more quickly (lolsob) but I’ve started reaching out to try to get some professional help there again.

Been doing a few band exercises, kb swings, and quite a bit walking over last bit and made it to the gym Sunday. Did a 20 min peloton tonight and will try to either lift or ride again tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!

Didn’t make it back to the exercise world until today, snuck in a quick one after work.

12 min treadmill
Shoulder warmup
Pull-ups 2x5
OHP: 135 3x5
Lateral raises: 15 3x8
Face pulls: 60 3x10
Tri push down: 50 2 x 10

Will get something that gets my heart moving tomorrow/Sunday and/or legs

Just got in a very quick, pathetic leg session.

10 min walk
Leg curl: 70 x 15, 110 3 x 10
Leg press: 200 x 12, 290 x 10, 380 2 x 10
KB swings: 50 x 20
Split squat: 25 x 10

My legs were sore by the end of the set of the leg curls so I knew this wasn’t going to be great, had more planned but I called it there as it was just going to put me into a recovery hole I don’t really want to dig out of right now.

Bench/chest tomorrow and a peloton if my legs still understand their basic function and can do it.

Bench

15 min walk
Shoulder warmup
Bench: 135 x 10, 185 x 5, 235 3 x 5
Face pulls: 3 x 15
Tri pulldown: 60 3 x 15
Seated dip: 180 x 15, 230 2 x 10

Bench felt weird but I’ve never liked the benches at my gym and haven’t done much with a barbell in the last few years, so not unexpected really. Peloton tonight…maybe

Ended up just hitting 50 kb swings last night.

Today
Kb swings: 40 2 x 50
Rope curls: 2 x 10
Upright rope rows: 2 x 10

Will do a peloton tomorrow and hopefully hit the gym for a back session Wednesday

Whelp, didn’t make it back to the world of exercise until today.

1 mile walk 4% incline, 17:30
Shoulder warmup
Pull-ups: 2 x 4
Rack pulls, just below knee: 135 x 5, 225 x 5, 275 3x3
KB hammer curls: 25 3x5
Seated cable row: 110 3 x 10
Straight arm pulldown: 80 3 x 10
Cable rope curl: 50 3 x 12

Decent enough, going to keep the belt off for a while until I’m more confident in my brace, probably won’t touch a barbell deadlift for a few more months.

Feeling like my conditioning sucks but not too bad otherwise.

The snow has melted here, only got a few inches but I’m guessing @boilerman might not be so lucky!

Haha, luckily I live in a different city than the one you’re thinking of. We missed it all too, thankfully.

Nice, sounds like that is going to be chaos. I was up there two or three weekends ago and it was like 70 and Sunny. Wild stuff

Yeah dude! We had a few days of 70+ around here too. One last swan song before the darkness sets in haha.

I was getting blasted on the maid of the mist then and now have snow, the darkness seemed to come earlier this year than last.

Got in a quick workout at home yesterday, which I need to get back to, work has been more busy and the dog is still needy so getting to the gym during the day is getting tougher.

Yesterday was chest:
Flies: 3 x 10
Triceps: bunch of random garbage
Face pulls: 3 x 10
Bench: 185 3 x 8 (barbell still feels off, need to work on wrist positioning)

Went and helped keep track of penalties at a roller derby last night then had a few drinks and bar food after, not feeling great today but the derby was awesome, I can’t imagine how sore I’d be if I went through what they did.

Legs:

Walk: 12 min
Leg curls: 110 3 x 11
Leg press: 200 x 10, 290 x 10, 380 3 x 11
Split squat: 20 2 x 8
Back raises: 3 x 10
Superset with KB swings: 45 3 x 20

Feeling a little better in the gym, conditioning still not there because I’m not focusing on it, hopefully the supersets and swings will slowly build it back up until I prioritize it.

Got a quick shoulder day in before a weekend of debauchery begins (heading to Chicago for thanksgiving with friends and a concert).

Walk 25ish min, watched the first bit of the Belgium/Canada game.
Shoulder warmup
OHP: 135 3 x 6
Pullups: 2 x 4
Lateral raise: 20 3 x 8
Facepulls/Tri pushdown super set: 40 3 x 10

About 45 minutes total, felt the best I have in a while. Going to get another walk in here in a minute while the sun is shining.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
