Began a Restart Protocol. Having Trouble, Feeling Terrible

I’m looking for some direction on how to proceed as I’ve been feeling horrible. My doc put me on this restart protocol about 3 weeks ago:

50mg Clomid every day.
1,000iu HCG 2 times a week
.25 Anastrozol 2 times a week

After 10 days I felt like I was climbing the walls - very high anxiety and stress, not sleeping, and strange pains in my chest area. Saw my doc again, he did labs (I’ll get the results back in a couple days) and suggested stopping the Clomid till I felt better and then drop to 25mg eod. Increase anastrozol .25 to eod. Well, it’s been almost a week and I haven’t felt that much better so I have not taken any more Clomid. The chest pain feelings went away after day 4 though.

So I’m taking the HCG and anastrozol and I have anxiety and stress feelings still. I’ve read KSMan protocol for restart and would like to have my doc use the other recommended serm going forward, but my question is: How do I start feeling better today?

Is the HCG too high and I need to cut back to 250iu eod? I feel like my e2 is way out of control and this is what is causing my symptoms. Or is it the residual effects of the Clomid and it’s nasty e2 side effects and it will take another couple weeks to get out of my system? Or is this the result of stopping my exogenous T shots? KSman or anyone else I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on reducing this anxiety stress feeling which is just horrible.

FYI - I was on TRT about 5 years injecting 40mg eod with .25 anastrozol 3 times a week, with 250iu of HCG 2 times a week. Following ksman’s protocol. 800 or so total T with e2 coming in from 20-30. About 5 months ago things went south and started feeling bad (I’ll post up details later) which led me to doing the restart and getting off T. I’m 55. Thank you for any help and direction you can provide. Today’s the day for my next HCG shot and I’m at a loss of what to do or take.

But for right now what can I do to feel close to normal immediately? I don’t want to take any more Clomid as I feel it caused terrible sides. Thanks again.

For now def lower hcg to 500 2 -3 x a week. You can take labs while on hcg and see if testes are working. If T is low then u are primary and need trt. If t is good start clomid At most 25 ED. Then labs to see if pituitary is awake and producing lh and fsh.

The reason for your suffering is your doctors lack of knowledge, Clomid at that dosage is just stupid. Your need to start out at 12.5mg EOD and no more than 25mg EOD. Half of the Clomid pill is pure estrogen. That’s why you feel like climbing the walls, like women when on their period.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Systemlord that’s what I was thinking from my research here on the forum that the Clomid is the culprit. I haven’t taken any for 7 days.

But, is there anything I can do about it now? And how long will it last?

I did feel okay a couple days last week, but the last couple days have been very hard. The anxiety and stress feeling creep up as the day goes along and when I go to bed i lay there till about 3 or 4 feeling horrible and finally fall asleep due to exhaustion. I feel like I’m a mess.

As for the other feedback it sounds like lowering my HCG may help? Any suggestions on anastrozol dosing - .25 eod good?

It’s not expected to get better, in fact it’s expected to get worse. Your response to clomid is a typical one, feeling great in the beginning and feeling worse as time goes on, this is why men quit clomid. Successful restarts are rare, doctors need to do everything before giving you TRT so they don’t get slapped with lawsuits.

That’s why you’re suffering, if you were over 50 they wouldn’t even consider clomid because you’re expected to have a deficiency by that age.

AI’s are based off labs, just lower clomid to 25 EOD.

I was on Clomid for 9 months. Initially I took 25mg EOD but didn’t feel well. No Clomid sides like blurred vision, more typical TRT stuff. In response I dropped to 12.5mg EOD and that solved everything. In fact, the lower dose actually increased by T.

My question is why Clomid AND HCG? They both stimulate LH production via different vehicles. I could see your body being flooded with LH leading to a flood of T leading to a flood of E. You don’t want to flood your body with anything, during a restart you want your body to opperate as naturally as possible.

Keep going. One foot in front of the other. You’ll get this figured out soon.
