I’ll pay good money for a sixer of Dogfish Head’s “Faithfull Ale” if anyone wants to send it to me, or perhaps wants me to send them some good CO beer in exchange.
Can’t you get Dogfish Head at Whole Foods?
In Colorado, the only place you can get beer above 3.2 is at a liquor store, or ONE chain store (like, ONE Whole Foods of all the ones in CO can sell good beer). We have plenty of Dogfish Head, but this is a limited edition brew. I’ve checked my local liquor stores and the ones that have had this one have sold out.

I’m ready for this Thanksgiving’s festivities! I snagged the last two bottles of Rodenbach Grand Cru from my local BevMo. It’s considered a Flanders red ale but also falls under the classification of a sour/wild ale. If you’re into beers like Consecration and Supplication by Russian River Brewing, I think you’ll enjoy this one. It’s one of the best sours I have ever tasted! I can’t wait to pour this one tommorrow!
You sonofabitch!
Which BevMo did you hit up. Mira Mesa? La Mesa?
I’m in Ventura currently, hitting the BevMo after work for similar experimentation. Well done!
Yeah, I got it from the BevMo in Mira Mesa. The only other BevMos I can think of in Sd off the top of my head are ; Carmel Mtn, La Jolla and Mission Valley. I’m sure there are others but I can’t think of them at the moment.
As for the Grand Cru above I had a chance to sample this one at a little whole in the wall bar in the University Heights area called ‘Small Bar’. Cool little joint with a great beer selection. It was San Diego Beer Week last week and I drank for 6 days straight and had a chance to sample some amazing brews. Another standout beer I can remember having was Hess Brewing’s Ex Umbris stout!
Rodenbach Grand Cru isn’t really that popular…yet, so hopefully you can get your hands on some later. I think it’d be perfect for Thanksgiving!

I’ve had the Delirium Tremens and it was a decent brew from what I can remember. One that I wouldn’t mind having again.

La Mesa has a decent BevMo, on the backside of Grossmont Center.
My stomping ground when I’m in SD is Hoffers in La Mesa. Beer and Cigar bar. If you’re stuck out in east county doing bullshit Hoffers is a good stop.
It’s where I found Ports’ “Old Viscosity.” It’s a fistfight in a glass to begin with, on tap is a whole other level.

Was realy impressed with this stuff, Lech. Picked up a few bottles for a night out to try something different. Nice stuff with a great flavour and 5.2% proof!

Unibroue 17 - considered the best Dark Ale in the world, and now available in Ontario!
It was great to have some Molson Canadian when I was back in Winnipeg last month, and there was one I had in the Minneapolis airrport with some long German or Dutch name that I don’t recall and it was nice.
After googling I found it’s a Wisconsin beer called Leinenkugel.

Rude of me not to post a picture. Man it’s great how wonderfully sexy beer can look. I mean just wow. My love for candy when I was 7 just doesn’t compare.
Damn it I would love to be digging ditches on a hot July day only to fill them in again just to earn a couple of cold ones.

Nice! Sometimes I wish I lived in the States just to get access to some of your amazing micros. In Japan you’re limited to a few good exports, and Ontario is improving but still pretty sub-par. I can’t read the labels…what do you have in there?
There are a few nice beers in Japan but it does depend on which part of the country you are in.
The best of the major breweries is Yebisu. They do several beers, all good apart from the white can which is decidedly “meh”.
If you can find it, I recommend Echigo Beer.
Here are the US distributors;
The Weizen is quite good, as is the Pale Ale.
Here in Taiwan you can get Asahi and Kirin and they bring out seasonal beers but for me they are all too bitter. I should mention I don’t like Samuel Adams because I find that one too bitter. So keep that in mind when you hear me judge Japanese beer.

I love Linies, Great beer selection and I normally dig their seasonal brews too. They also have a couple of “fruity” beers for the ladies. I think there is a “Linies lounge” in the Minneapolis airport.
Got some cool beers in the U.S.
Australian beers for the most part suck.
Is it true that you mainly drink light beer in the US?

I didn’t find any Linie’s Lounge, I got mine at a little bar in the G wing called “The Lodge” near Gate 3.
I also had a beer called Blue Moon and theput a slice of orange in it. Very refreshing.

I go through spells, but right now though…
Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA
and
New Belgium 1554 Black Ale
Speaking of American microbreweries, I’ve never understood why I see people order a Bud Light in one of those. I see it all the time. Its kind of like going to pastry shop and asking for a Twinkie…
My pet peeve is all these microbrews with animal names. Especially “dog”
What’s up with that?

lol, good point.
Knocked down half a dozen Sierra Nevada Kellerweis tonight. Not at all like a Bavarian Hefe. Not to my taste. Glenfiddich 12-year-old chasers BTW
