This is what I have my eye on. Not sure misses is happy with me filling the shed with “junk” as she would put it!
That’s exactly what Mrs. SvenG said when she saw what I was looking at!
It is ok though to have 300 different candles or pot plants in the house though ![]()
Playing devils advocate, having plants in the house cleans the air and has been reliably shown to increase mood for many
Candles though…
But yeah, my mum is very into collecting Knick knacks. It’s annoying
Yeah, but the keg… it helps… it’s not… it’s… Bah, nevermind!
Edit: Actually, she’s never really stood in the way of anything like that—we don’t work that way. She wasn’t thrilled about the sled when she realized I’d be keeping it next to the car, but now she’s pushing it 4 times a week herself.
I’ll just have to bide my time with this one, too. ![]()
This is exactly why I will never be with someone who doesn’t take working out somewhat seriously…
That may well be the case, but having a house full
of gubbins (my made up word for useless clutter) can also have a negative impact on others
Don’t really want to take it here, but…
FIFY.
Agreed. Mum thinks little trinkets = “interesting life”
I made it even better.
Well that one is more flexible
I will be getting plenty of that from work
The person would just have to tolerate their role as a sounding board and accept that I might prefer to spend time on projects than with them
In turn, I’ll accept that he might leave a date to take a business call
Honestly, that’d be terrible! I know plenty of academic couples, and plenty who are in the same field, but I’m pretty sure Mrs. SvenG and I would tear each others eyes out if we were publishing together!
I will be getting plenty of that from work
Yes!

Kids are off school today and tomorrow, so it was another leisurely morning. Not much to say about this one—felt pretty easy overall, which is good for a 5s week. Dropped the ab wheel ramp again, all good there. Went ahead and knocked out the second 20-rep set of press for the week; moved well, maybe easier than last time, certainly no harder, and I had a nice burn in my shoulders by the end.
That just leaves deadlift WM and burpees, etc. for later today.
I’m pretty sure me and Mrs. SvenG would tear each others eyes out if we were publishing together!
I like my friend, and even if we were to eventually get together, I would never want to work with him.
We’re actually on a project team together and it’s already been quite irritating
deadlift WM
No… just no…
it’s already been quite irritating
I learned that lesson early: my wife and I took exactly two classes together in college, and she’s still a touch bitter about the literature course in which I was supposedly the “teacher’s pet.”
Ive come to realize he’s as bad as my nitpicky advisor. Just not going to happen
The person would just have to tolerate their role as a sounding board and accept that I might prefer to spend time on projects than with them

I think we have just found the perfect Tinder profile text.

Deadlifts were good; challenge will be staying tight the whole time with heavier weights. And maybe grip, eventually, as well. All that’s left now is just food and rest, as usual.

Late start, but a good day. Throws were half-hearted today—it’s pouring down rain, which normally wouldn’t bother me, but I’m tired of the rain and I just wanted to get through them. Anyway, crushed this workout. Absolutely flew through it but didn’t push (if that makes sense). Everything felt smooth and fluid today.
Did the second bench Widowmaker for this week directly following my last set of assistance—once again, it was ridiculously easy. And that was with bumping the weight up to 60% of the projected anchor TM (plus 5 lbs because I wasn’t paying attention) and after 55 reps in the actual workout. Pretty happy with that, to say the least. Hopefully the rest of my lifts catch up before too long…
Sled, burpees, swings, BPAs, and curls to follow later today.
