Workout: Daily work, 1715-1750 (35 minutes)

3 rounds of:
Leg ext - 90 lbs - 16
Leg curl - 75 lbs - 16
KB swing - 32 kg - 30

Assault bike - 59 calories

So I’m sitting all day, and the pain is getting worse and worse. I try stretching a bit, but nothing’s helping—figure I might need a Plan B or something, because the last time I pushed the SI joint issue I was laid up for a long, long time.

Then I go upstairs to get coffee or something, and all of a sudden: Poof! The pain is gone. No idea why, except that whatever must’ve slipped out of placed suddenly popped back in!?!

I was still aware of it—and I still am—but it’s not pain, just tenderness. Nothing I’m worried about, though, so I did the daily work just like always—and now I’m done!

God I feel like you and I hang pretty close on a lot of lifts…. Then you bench and I have to go cry in the corner

a) Deadlift - 265x5, 285x5, 305x3, 325x3, 345x1, 355x1, 365x1, 375x1, 385x1, 395x1, 405x1 (PR)
b1) Lat pullover - 60 lbs - 12, 12, 12
b2) Rev grip lat pulldown - 120 lbs - 8, 8, 8
c) Alternating KB gorilla row - 2x47.5 lbs - 20, 20, 20
d) EZ curl 21s - 35 lbs - 3x(7 wide/7 reverse/7close)

Fasted.

Best deadlift before today was 395x2 back in October 2022. Based on what I’ve got written in that log entry and in my PR notebook, today’s single at 405 was much easier:

Now, before we go getting too excited about my goal of 1/2/3/4, I realize I need to clarify: My goal is 1/2/3/4 for 5+ reps on all four lifts at the same time. Today’s single was a step in that direction, but it doesn’t satisfy my goal—and besides, I’m not sure I could press 135 for more than a rep or two right now. There’s no doubt I’m stronger and better conditioned than I was at the start of the year, but I’ve still got a long, long way to go.

Nevertheless, a PR is a PR, so… Yay for me!

Edit: The dehumidifier is right next to the camera, but I had no idea it would be so loud! There’s nothing to hear, really, but the noise level caught me by surprise when I played the video back just now. Consider yourself warned!

Edit 2: I almost missed 365 because my left hand just decided not to grip the bar anymore, so straps went on at 375.

@shaneinga, @alex_uk - Thanks, guys! I’m fairly certain there was another single or two at higher weights, but I’m not sure about more reps at 405—the ability to reset the body and mind, even if just for a minute or so, really makes a difference!

But I’m very happy with how this whole week has played out, so thanks again for your comments!

Knocked this out early because our Friday evening is a bit different again: My daughter is swimming in yet another local USA Swimming championship meet this weekend, and this morning she qualified for tonight’s final in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Glad to be done with the daily work, in any case.

Hell yeah, that was easy!! Also I appreciate the outfit. I won’t argue about belt position,
I would just generally advise to use a thicker (leather) belt than this.
