It’s chest & tris day, folks, so you know the drill: That was hard and the pump is incredible!
Warm-up sets in 4 minutes, main work in 7 minutes, supplemental in 15 minutes. The top set wasn’t as easy as I’d like given that it’s a full 10 lbs lighter than last week, but it was better than last week—5th rep was still a little slow, but the bar path wasn’t as screwy.
Dips have gotten into my head, no doubt, but today I had some weird pain in my right lat, near my armpit (but not quite that high). It was very strange—I thought perhaps I twisted my shoulder funny as I mounted the bar, but it didn’t go away, so I took things “easy”. The reps were anything but easy though! I did meet the Malcom-X intent, however: 50 reps by any means necessary, and that was 5 sets today.
Hit my push-up goal for this week, too: 1 more rep in each set for 112 total over the 4 sets. I was basically at failure at the end of each set, so that worked out well. Took the underhand pushdowns up by 5 lbs and my tris were burning by the end—just what the doctor ordered!
Planning on swings and the (Modified) Wednesday WOD later today.
