Despite standing around all day for my job todays squat training went really well. Overhead squats were very easy, considered doing another set but instead i’ll just bump the weight a little more next week. After my last set of 5/3/1 squatting a guy came over and asked to work in. I was using the only squat rack in the whole damn gym, so i said yes. He decided to teach his kids how to squat, and he was teaching them to actually squat which was pretty cool (ymca’s have a retarded amount of half and quarter squaters) but it took forever to have 3 people squatting at the same time. so box squats went out and i just did the OHS instead.

Haha thanks, but i havnt had to do track practices, i’m sure you’ll get back to it once the seasons over. I seem to remember that your max was still higher though… 385 or 405 right?

Wasnt feeling it on squats today so i just hit the rep goal for the week. I figure i couldnt get it for 8 so i called it. Spent my day standing in a hole so i wasnt really in the mood. Overhead squats went very well though, as did lunges. the three i did do at 330 wern’t to hard, i feel like i could be somewhere in the neighborhood of a 400# squat really soon, which would be awesome.

BW was 203, good press workout. Threw as well, worked on using my right leg out of the back of the circle (swinging it wide). Considering how tough my gym workout was, throwing a few hours later turned out to be alright, had quite a few more throws over 115, but the average was still probably around 105.

Squatting hungry is never good, lesson learned. Threw after for a while, technique is getting much better as i hit 115 a few times, and my body is fried. My standing throw is still better in some cases than my spin, i’m always good for atleast 105 standing.

Entire upper body was sore, shoulders traps and back from yesterday, so the 405x3 today wasnt bad. plus this was pulled with a hook grip, so it feels like i’m going to tear my thumbs off.

Been throwing a lot recently, shooting for upwards of an hour a day. Technique is getting a lot better, and today i had a ‘set’ of 3 throws all over 110 feet. Bought about 30 lbs of chain today too so i’ll be working that in on training days.

The two that were competing at the meets i went to were about to 140’ (and threw hammer), and 155ish (and threw shot 60’). I’m thinking about going to a track camp this summer to actually be coached on throwing, which will hopefully help me ad some good distance.
