In a very happy mood today. That post by Corey brought a new inner light. No knee pain with the drop of the 2nd set of 10 rep squat. Made them real deep. Last rep I didn’t think was coming up, eventually got past my sticking point. Also, SNOW!!! When I got out of the gym, there was about an inch, and still falling. One more thing. Off to see this little guy tomorrow. :smiley:

Everything felt light and really explosive. Thinking diet is starting to work it’s magic. Some guy saw me lifting, and asked me to play for the local semi pro football team. Invitation number 6 now. Like I’ve said to the rest, if I can’t even do high rep squats without knee issues, how am I suppose to play? Big thing is, not sure if my heart will be into it after 6 years being away. So, then he asks for advice to build up explosion. This is a guy who decided last week he was going to go out, and hasn’t really trained at all. Told him not much I can do at this point, except hit some heavy volume with dynamic work the first month, and then start easing back the next two so he’s not burnt out beginning of hell week. Another person looking for a magical pill is all I see. We’ll see if he sticks with it, and comes over to me after the season.

Man it would be fun to play football again, maybe when i’m done with school and have more flexibility in my work schedule.

Spent some more time rolling the hamstrings and glutes. They had a lot of fun today. Lats are exhausted as well. Good shit. Good thing it’s deload next week. Puppy comes home on Monday. Pretty damn excited to find a Husky. He’s going to be a big boy. Daddy is 110-120 pounds. lol

Combined both days together, as didn’t want to leave the puppy home alone too long. Fast and easy. So tired though from the little guy. Is all worth it though.

Powerlifting definitely does. His name is Dargo. He’s fitting into my life quite nicely.

The title is a mixture of things. I love bears, Grizzly/Kodiak and Polar bears being my favorite. People who know me on the face to face terms, say that my demeanor is of a bear. Laid back, doing his own thing, until it comes to a fight, all fucking hell breaks lose. I take care of the ones close to me to the death. Also, a Sioux medicine man told me that my soul is of a bear. Coming from a respected man of the Indian reservation I lived right next to, it means a lot. Then during the whole abuse thing, I wanted to be a bear, for I could live free. So, it all comes down to I love bears, if I were to worship some form of religion it would be that of a bear (or Asatru as reading the Edda’s and it’s good stuff lol), and who would want to fuck with a bear god when you will be raped in .5 seconds. So in essence, I’m turning into a Bear God, a compassionate being but something not to fuck with on the platform. Hopefully that makes sense. I could go on and on, but then I would end up in a mental institution. lol Welcome to my wandering mind.

The title is very meaningful. I’m glad I asked. I’m sorry for your pain. But, I am happy to witness your becoming. All the best in 2012.

@Nadia - Thanks. Don’t be sorry. It’s what fuels me to be me, and I’m happy to be me. I grew up with pain, and powerlifting helps feed the need for it. Hope your New Years was a blast, and looking forward what comes of your training in 2012.

No knee issues at all. Had issues falling forward though… Need to work on that, as been issues since going to this high rep stuff. One reason I dislike it, but need it. As they do, do the shit you hate, as you will only get better. Puppy is doing better in the kennel, so sleep is a lot better. Weight is sitting around 331-332 for last couple of days. Down 8-9 lbs, going on week 3 now. Cheated New Years Eve. Was all alone at work, so said fuck it and ordered a medium thin crust from Dominos. Took half the toppings, and threw them on the other, and only ate half the dough. Was gone in 10 minutes… I miss pizza.

Nice session-doing what you hate isn’t fun, but the moment when you realize you don’t hate it anymore makes it worth it. How are you falling forward, folding over or coming onto your toes?

Nice job with keeping on the diet, 8-9 pounds sounds perfect. Sounds like you made a fair compromise with the pizza.

Coming on my toes like a retard… Upper back is staying tight. It’s I’m scared to sit back, and drive straight up. Pretty confident though once I get back to days, things will change. I won’t go into further details. lol

Christmas/New Years was great. Sat at work for 12 hours straight all alone. lol. I have no family remotely close, so I work the holidays. More money.

Did not want to move today… IDK what, but something yesterday with the squats and such just annihilated my hammies/glutes. Maybe it was the whole work out. lol Took a bit to get warmed up, but after I did, everything went real smooth. Triceps were engorged with blood at the end.

So…fucking…sore… It was a Slayer type of workout. lol Doesn’t help I was going to do this tomorrow to give some more time between squat day, but I have training tomorrow, for shit I’ve all ready been trained on before most everyone else… Oh well. Found out today, this is my last week on overnights. Fuck…yes! Beast mode is back! Valhalla calls my name, but I’m not ready yet.

Your mind is a breaker box, shutting the body down when it thinks the body has had enough. As powerlifters, we train our minds to ignore this barrier, and actually push our bodies to the extreme. If you are worried about getting hurt, then get of my way and stick to your couch eating Cheetos. It’s inevitable that one day I will fuck something up hardcore. My only wish is that it doesn’t take me out of the sport.
