Batman Arkham Asylum: Best Superhero Game Ever?

I am a huge fan of this game. I only have a few complaints but those are just minimal. Hopefully this game will have a sequel where you get to openly roam Gotham city. Now this thread makes me want to play it some more. Off to get some medals in the challenge mode.

I love that Batman is a big, hulking dude in this game but he moves like a ninja, like he’s always been in the comics. Screw Christian Bale . I think this game’s version of Bane is based on the one from the movie Batman and Robin, unfortunately. [/quote]

To be fair, Bale looked more the part in Batman Begins then Dark Knight. He didnt bulk up nearly as much. Def. looked better in BB. If they are trying to get us to believe a man dressed up as a bat can take out a dozen plus henchmen, he better look the part.

I agree, I read in Batman Begins the crew members on the film were calling him “fatman” because he supposedly bulked up too much. Screw them for making Bale self-conscious as he is obviously mentally imbalanced and therefore the best movie Batman ever.

Wow. Wasn’t gonna give this game a second glance but after reading these posts I checked out some reviews and videos at IGN.com

Looks like this is a must buy.

How could you not!!??!?!?!

With all the hype around E3, and all the positive reviews on IGN, gamespot etc… how could you skip this game!

After I finish the 360 ver. I’m going to buy it for the ps3, for the joker.

Be warned, the game itself doesn’t have the Joker, it lets you go online to DOWNLOAD the Joker. Since I don’t have my PS3 hooked up to the Net, I felt a bit gypped, but the game is fantastic otherwise. I love the takedown move where you hang upside down from a gargoyle and grab an unsuspecting goon, leaving him trussed up and hanging Predator-style. More than any other moment, this truly made me feel like Batman. I took out an entire room full of guys this way and it was awesome listening to them get more and more panicked. Definitely a must buy.

WHERE ARE YOU??!!!?

I’m here…

GAAAAHHHH!!!

LOL.

Yeah, the upsidedown-hang-and-grab using stealth is reason enough to get the game. I like that the prisoners actually seem to have some thought behind their actions instead of being mindless video game puppets.

I like that when you scare them enough, they start shooting their guns for no reason.

“What’s that? AH!!! Gun shots Where are you?!”

Also, if you guys are hanging on a ledge and the enemies walk by, you can tap Y and throw them off the ledge for an automatic take down. Bad ass!

For those who havent beaten it yet- wait until you get somewhat close to the end.

Its you in a small room with about a horde of bad guys. So sick.

What’s a horde? 5 or more bad guys with guns?

Don’t want to spoil it too much, but its much more then 5.

I have no desire to beat this game that quickly. There would be nothing to do after that and God of War doesn’t come out til damn near next year.

I hope it takes me another 2 months to get through it more.

If it helps they just announced they are redoing GOW1 & 2 for PS3. Gonna be out this holiday season.

More like 20 with two Titans sprinkled in.

Wow. Just picked this up at Walmart. Haven’t gotten too far (first Riddler riddle) and it’s really impressive.

Graphics kick ass and presentation is awesome too. Great buy.

Just beat it on hard a day ago. Fan-fucking-tastic from beginning to end. Probably took me close to 12 hours with a good amount of exploring, and I’m still working on collecting the rest of the Riddler trophies and other items. Plus, I plan on tackling more of the challenge rooms.

I can’t even begin to talk about everything that was done right in this game because it’s oozing awesomeness from every nook and cranny.

I really hope they make a sequel…and find a way to have it somewhere other than Arkham while not making it an open-world game. Throw in a little Euphoria for the enemies, so they aren’t always grabbing their heads or succumbing to some fairly outdated ragdoll, and I’ll gladly give Rocksteady and Eidos more of my money.

Right, fuck it, im getting this as soon as I get back from holiday.

That isn’t too bad. All you need to do is fight the enemies and when the Titans are about to charge, do a dodge evade and the Titan will run those fuckers. Make sure to hit a Titan with a batarang, beat him up, and then Jump on his back so you can control. That way you can smack round the other Titan and the goons.

The game isn’t hard unless you do stupid shit. I’ve played stealth games to know when to fight head on and when to hide in vents and take down people silently .

I repeat: Bullets HURT a lot!
