Baseball POLL

Cubbies vs. Yankees in the World Series. I’ve been waiting 23 years to see the Cubs there, and want to see them take on a dynasty (and thrash them)

Cubs vs twins would be acceptable, but not cubs vs yankees… no no no

Yankees need to be knocked out again so steinbrenner has a cow and cans half the team.

I saw on SportsCenter where the fans were actually boooing Giambi. Has he been that dissapointing?

that was cuz giambi k’d.lol next at bat hit a single knocked in 2 rbis and they cheered.lol

Goes to show you what a classy lot those Yankees fans are. Disgusting, spoiled brats.

the only time giambi was boo’d in oaktown was when he came back in pin stripes.lol

Giambi got boo’d because we knew he’s capable of more than 0-4…ya twit  GO YANKS!!!

if we’re gonna talk fickle fans, Oakland fans boo’d the guy that carried their team and gave his guts for ‘em. And BoSox fans give up on their team before the game is ever over…let’s get some real baseball goin’ on…

GO YANKS!!!

The National League is a bubbling cauldron of upsets. Everyone picked Atlanta and the Giants – both teams lost in the divisional.

American League: Yanks pulled it together, but still looked very beatable. However, whichever of Oakland or Boston pulls it out today (Digression: Have you ever seen a better series than Oakland v. Boston thus far? Talk about drama. Talk about controversy. You should get to view it all as a displaced Californian in Boston like I am…), is going to be very tired, due to the poor scheduling of this series. Add the next transcontinental flight to the mix, and you’d have to say the Yanks are favored in Game 1 of the next round at least. If they get on an emotional roll and the Sox/A’s blew their wad on the Divisional round, the Yanks will cruise into the World Series.

As for me, I want to see Sox/Cubs, just because I don’t believe in curses…

After tonight…then there were four.

Cubs:Looking very solid so far. Great pitching as expected.

Marlins: These guys have suprised everyone. Watch out!

Yanks: Same old same old. Blah. blah. Blah…

Red Sox or A’s: Sox will give the Yanks a battle to remember but the A’s are hurting right now with Hudson going down.

SOX are in!

The team the Yankees didn’t want to have to play

Re: Sox

I think the Sox are at a serious disadvantage in the early games of the series, due to the fact that the Yankees starters are operating on a week’s rest, while the Sox pitchers are going to only get a few days. Some of the rest the Yanks earned, by beating the Twins in 4 games.

However, some was a gift of the scheduler, who decided, for whatever reason, that the Yanks and Twins should get more intra-series rest than the A’s and Sox, despite the cross-continent travel required of the latter teams. Pretty piss poor in my opinion.

The Yanks are looking very beatable, but if their pitching is dominant the Sox won’t have the chance to take advantage of the Yanks poor defense and mostly sub-par hitting (especially compared with past, championship Yankees squads).

yeah
huddy is hurtin from a bar brawl with sox fans, imagine that.lol they knew the had no chance so they beat up our starter.lol its rigged anyways i knew it when the giants lost. then the horrible calls in game 3. it will be cubs and sox world series.
hope jonny is ok.

Red Sox

(will beat the Cubs in the Series)

Boston, actually I think the amount of rest was solely determined by the tv guys.
Seems their main draw is the cubs this year, so they had to configure schedules to put the cubs in best viewing times, while still keeping yanks and red sox in good times also due to market size.

I do hope the sox beat the yanks, and lets have the cubs in the series too. Maybe then the freak accident will happen that will wipe out both teams completely leaving no winner.

The Yanks pitching seems to be getting stronger during the month of October.

Petit looked strong and his stuff was just filthy…

Clemens and Wells aren’t going to flounder either, especially in a series this huge.

I think the Sox will take their lumps in the first two games, play a close third game and win, then they will come into their own, ManRam will get his bat going, and then, they will prevail.

B.

Did you guys see the nogging crash between Jackson and Damon? Damn that had to hurt…

Don’t Care about this year Got to wait till next year. GO M.E.T.S METS METS METS!

Although, I would love to see a cubs VS Yankees Series. And have the Cubs winning it in 7 games.

This series is tight. 2-2 with a Lowe vs. Wells (fatboy) match up today.

C’mon! Cubs vs. Red Sox in the series of the century!

Ok that was SAD SAD SAD all over.

What a total fall-apart-lose-your-will-to-fight inning that was.

First off, what is a home team fan doing sticking their hands into the pot like that.
And then, to follow it up with a horrible bobbling of the ball by the shortstop who can’t hit for sh*t in postseason.
Visions of the cubs in 84 and boston in 86 are dancing through their heads right now, real question is will they excise those demons before tomorrow night?

I loved it. I fucking loved it. seeing the look on the Cubs’ fans faces. No one thought we could beat Prior at Wrigley. One more game baby. Lets go Fish.

Now if we only didnt have to face fucking Kerry Wood tommorrow…

I wanted Detroit to take more losses this year they played like that wanted it, now that was even better than any penant race…
