You are getting beastly strong, Reed, I think you were pulling 500 the last time we talked. I am up to 415/315/465 now ( I am that teen who was doing westside training that you helped program/work on form/weaknesses).

How’s life and lifting going? Did you get married/still married to that girl?

Hey man I think I remember you but honestly I meet amd talk to so many people on line and in person these days about training I have a hard time remembering every one. Thank you for the kind words though man I have been taking training, nutrition, and recovery to a much more dtailed and in depth level so t has really paid off.

As for life in general it has def had its ups and down. Me and my ex wife divorced around 2 years ao and are still friends and talk but, in general we just couldnt live with each other so we parted ways. Started college, ISSA Cert Course, started training a lot of people online and in person for powerlifting and general fitness so staying very busy. ALso, have been with a girl now for about a year and half and she has a little boy so that has been a shock to me lol . So all in all alot of changes and extra work load taken on but, all in all has been pretty good and fun.

Ahh, that’s fine. Sorry to hear about your ex, I think that’s the girl I was thinking was your wife or gf. Good for you on going to college and training people, I am glad you are doing something you like.

I am a junior in highschool now, (I think I was entering highschool the last time we talked) and things have been going well for me. Good grades, involved in plenty of activities, etc. I had some bad stuff going on in my family last year (dad has cancer, but it’s going away/requires less aggressive treatment now), but things are starting to get sorted out.

I think I am going to apply for UD or someplace that is easy to get into and is cheap once it is actually time to starting applying to colleges (senior year). I am interested in going into physics or engineering, something that has a lot of math and problem solving, okay-ish pay for the requirements, and is semi stable.

I think I am going to either do a powerlifting meet this fall/winter after football gets over. I was supposed to do my first meet around the same time last year, but some things got in the way and I couldn’t drive myself yet.

Are you still training with Sam Byrd?

Man sorry to hear about your father but glad he is recovering and come around strong. I know how that feels I have seen what cancer can do on more than one occasion to people close to me so I know how hard it is to stay focused on training and school during thosse times so good for you on that and being able to keep every thing going.

Glad to hear you will be making the jump to powerlifting finally if you need help or adcise you know I am here and Ill help where I can if you would like. Also, yes sir me and Sam are still training every bit as hard as ever. If you look at my training videos 9/10 times he is spotting me or handing off to me on bench. We are both 4 weeks out of our next meet here in TN. Both looking for some big PRs.

One of the coolest days of my life. 700lbs raw squat @ 209 bw. 50lbs all time PR at a lighter bw.

Weights are in the video description last two are 2 different angles of the 700.

fucking AWESOME

I can’t see the video for some reason, but great work - 700lbs is a massive achievement! Are you planning to get it in a meet then start the next log for 800lbs? Sounds like a solid plan to me… Seriously, WELL DONE!

Holy fuck! Congratulations on that epic squat. Only going up man.

Awesome, awesome work brother!

Yes sir. It’s not offical until I hit it on the platform. But, when it happens I will probably abandon this log and move on to 800. I figure that will take me roughly a year and half. How ever I am on a recent gain streak since working with Amit. My body is responding to everything from food, training, sleep, and supplements like never before.

Sam believes by this time next year of I keep my head on straight and carry on by this time next year I should be taking 800 for a ride. That alone gives me hope. I was only supposed to go to 660 yesterday and it was so easy he sad to load 700 and the second he said it would happen I didn’t doubt it for a minute.

Alright, thanks. What federation do you recommend I compete in? I am looking for one that won’t scare off my parents. I was trying to compete in a USPA (or was it USPAL?) meet, but I think I would need to reinstate my membership at this point.

Also congrats on the 700 squat, it looked great. Time to hit it in competition and change the title of your log, right? haha

Personally man depends where you are living really. I love the SPF personally they have the coolest atmosphere and while some guys go nuts Jesse doesn’t allow cussing and stuff around the crowd and will kick you out if you do and act a fool. But, I know they get a lot of grief. With that being said.

RPS is my next vote they run some awesome meets, with some cool ass looking equipment and have some cool people. Have not compete there but have been to two of there meets and will be competing there in December in hopes to Qual for the Arnold.

Next USPA. Steve Goggins around puts on great meets but, I am a mono whore so I don’t wanna have go walk out. Have compete in the USPA though but, not my favorite.

APC also holds some good meets.

As for USAPL and IPF I respect any one who competes there and won’t trash that person but those two feds could fall off the face of the earth and I wouldn’t even read the Facebook article telling me why hahaha.

Thanks man. Can I actually change the title or do I just have to make a new one?

To change the title just click edit on the first page then just change the text in the subject/title box.

What do you think of the RAW federation? USPA and RAW seem to be two prominent federations in the states that border Delaware.

Do you think I should wait until the football season is over to do a meet, or do you think it’d be fine to do a meet during it?

Beast! Congratulations doesn’t quite cover it I know you’ve worked hard for that 700 dude! Right on for hittin’ your mark man!
