Bad Trips on Pot

Yes, it often made me think about depressing shit, like the eventuality of death and the futility and temporary nature of life. I don’t smoke anymore, but I do remember that

The absolute worst trip I ever had on pot, was back in 1983. I was with three friends, two guys and a girl. We all lifted weights and worked up in the logging camp. We were headed up to Port Renfrew for the weekend.

In my buddies 1973 DodgeDart. Stoned out of our minds. Skunk weed, high test pot, the first strains of the future super pot. We were pretty out to lunch by the time we hit Jordan River. Hit the resturaunt and did a serious chow down, I mean a serious chow down.

Back on the road and the joints are flying. About fifteen miles later we got a flat. That sucked, but we were on our way shortly.

Now everyone had a different theory as to how we got into the ditch. Needless to say we were in the ditch. Laughing to the point of having to pee.

Now the road to Port Renfrew from Jordan River is to say the least (or was then) an adventure. Two joints and a couple cassettes later along came a logging company 4 X 4. Shy a guarter ounce but back on the road all the same.

About a mile out of Port Renfrew wouldn’t you know it. We ran out of gas. A common problem when a car’s gas gauge doesn’t work. Well we spark a joint and trucked on to the gas station with visions of candy bars dancing in our heads.

Well that’s about as bad as it can get on pot!

It’s probably not good, but I find myself unable to drink without smoking throughout nowadays. Helps me maintain my head and not get too ornery.

I do remember taking (perscribed) Vicodin while drinking and smoking a few times my freshman year in college. Those nights were fun, but I usually passed out about two hours after I got fucked up. I don’t normally mess with RX things, so I wasn’t prepared for the onslaught. Haven’t fucked with the combination since then, though.

Me too man. That’s pretty much why I quit.

I smoked for more then 1/2 my life… I’ve pulled whities, and freaked out a few times… but near the end… it just didn’t do anything at all for me…

I quit last Oct… haven’t smoked since… and MAN! it’s like this cloud of ‘dumb’ just lifts off your brain… all the sudden you are a LOT more aware…

That’s completely false. I’ve never had a “trip” on weed, but it’s definitely done much more than that. In fact, I was sitting here stoned one night and I realized one of the main effects of weed on me finally. I wrote it down right then so that I wouldn’t forget.

“Weed just takes the ?stopping point? or natural block/duller of our senses off. Naturally, our senses are capable of recruiting so much more emotion, but it is suppressed when we are in our normal mode. Weed removes the dullers, generally ?relaxing? everything and the senses can pick up much more information than before.”

can I have some of yours?

please?

I wasn’t being totally serious because actually this point has been talked about to death.

but seriously now, my brothers girlfriend has MS, really bad
she also have grand mual (sp) seizures .

the only thing that is helping her live a normal and productive life is weed.
she has to ingest it every 3 hours and she ingests (smoke and eat) about 10 pounds a year or so.
it is not legal here, not even for legit medical reasons its an instant felony but its well worth the risk for her.

she is in a wheel chair due to the fact her legs are not even fully developed from muscle wasting.
but with weed she is able to live without the horrible nerve pain she has every day.
also the pain pills and anti sezure meds given to her was literally making her crazy, she was able to drop all but one of the meds she used to take and replaced it with weed.

she feels and acts so much better now.
she said she does not even get high anymore

when I used to smoke daily I would smoke and then I would go about my day normaly without even feeling high myself.

I can see where some people have bad trips but the majority of people do not. and I really have not I have smoked so much I was sober again and I went to sleep but that was the worst of it.

without getting into legalities and such you guys do now that in the us weed was a legit crop, and a very large one at that until it was outlawed for no reason in 1937
and after that the world followed suit

now this plant has been harvested and used for everything including medicine for thousands of years around the world.

just thought I would point that out

It’s thread titles that give marijuana a bad name. You just can’t have a bad “trip” smoking weed. This is something that generally only happens with severely inexperienced smokers eating too much food with pot in it.

Bullshit.

I once had to take a guy to meet an ambulance after he took one big knife-hit of super potent bubble hash. He wasn’t a regular smoker and he basically had an anxiety attack, but he thought he was dying.

Agreed. Although, one day while smoking rub (much higher THC content than regular bud for anyone who does not know) I took long and deep tokes one after the other. About 5 minutes later I got to the point that a single movement was too much for the brain to handle. I stood still for 3 hours at my buddies place and fell asleep for 2 while they went to another party.

…when i first started out smoking weed/hash, me and my mates were in a coffeeshop in Amsterdam and i rolled a joint for myself with a little too much hash in it. After a few puffs i started sweating and feeling drowsy, and blacked out for a couple of seconds. For the next half hour i blacked out of another 3 times and felt very sick, all the time having to endure the ridicule of my mates who knew what had happened to me because it happened to all of them too at one point in their smoking carreer…

…oh, and walking stoned through Amsterdam fully paranoid and afraid of people is no joy, i can tell you that (-:

Who has “bad trips” on weed? Some motherfuckers get paranoid and that’s about it. Also, speaking with the police stoned isn’t fun either… or teachers… or parents… or employers… or airport security
But calling it a bad trip is pretty misleading. I’ve seen real “trips” go bad, and I can’t imagine any way marijuana could do that to someone.
only bad trip there is, when you walk to the fridge to find your brownies are gone
Have you ever even smoked weed? More than, oh, three times? It also worries me that you made a thread about weed and haven’t even had any input in it. Looks like you’re just setting marijuana up for failure without the stupid responses I’m seeing. Feels more like I’m talking to Dan Erickson.

Look, all I’m saying is the the word “Trip” is not applicable here. If you were talking about shrooms, LSD, oxy cotton, or xanax, then sure, I’d bite.

Where’s Mak?!

I hear ya man…

I only had one weird experience, wasn’t exactly bad or anything… I was really high and biking home alone in the dark, and I kept hearing the clicking noises of electric fences and I thought it was some monster chasing me. I kept going faster and faster and eventually I came home and sat down with half a gallon of milk and a baseball bat incase it came to get me…

Yeah that was pretty gay.

They used to have weed they called trippin weed, and you did trip. I do not believe it was laced with anything. If it were it was undetectable by taste

Not as bad as this guy…

You can have a trip on weed?

News to me.

Yeah, to White Castle in another state at 2am.

It WORRIES you that I haven’t inputed? Well I didn’t know that you cared about me. Afterall, I don’t even know you. But point taken, I haven’t shared yet:

About seven months ago me and my buddies decided to whip up some “brownies,” (we were reqular smokers,). We bought about 50 bucks of some strongass bud. Then we bought some ready to bake brownie mix.

I am pretty sure we made them wrong because these brownies tasted so much like canibus, and I think they are supposed to taste like regular brownies. SO we ate them and about an hour later they kicked in. We were all going to go swimming when I startede tweaking out. Usually when I smoke… to be continued I gots ta go

The word “trip” is misleading, but I see what you’re saying. I myself don’t smoke much anymore, maybe a pull off a bowl or joint every few weeks/months, but no more than 1 hit. I started smoking when I was 14, and smoked daily for 3 or 4 years before it wasn’t the same.

What once made me hungry, goofy and basiclly unaware morphed into me being paranoid, anxious and hyper-alert. It took me about a year after noticing these symptoms to realizing [or admitting to myself] that bud’s effects on me had shifted.

I will say that when I smoke now I’m not paranoid or anxious, but overly aware of what I do and say, and what’s being done and said. It’s like my cognitive thought’s on hyper-drive.
