It’d be funny if Family Guy did a BTF1 spoof remake like they did with Star Wars.
they did do a quick reference

Marty: “Doc, I have something to tell you about your future”
Stewie: “No Michael J Fox, I have something to tell you about your future”

awful, but funny
This one made me laugh:

One of my favorites was VOLTRON (w/the lions of course). I was always the Black Lion, for obvious reasons…(and not because I’m black, because I’m NOT!..LOLOL!..I was just the one who had the most leadership skills at age 7!!!) The car version was like the difference between watching Go-Bots and Transformers…kinda the same, but not so much (at all)! I blame much of this on the invention of POWER RANGERS!..LOL…everything after that as far as Saturday Morning Toons…STR8 GARBAGE! Thank God for BOOM!
They couldn’t do a movie today BECAUSE of the Power Rangers. More kids would relate to PR than Voltron without knowing which was the original.

I was a Transformers kid.

Well…that and Lazer Tag.

No doubt…I remember Voltron started the whole interlocking-component-super-robot-hero-revolution…LOL. Even Transformers adopted a superduper transformer dude, comprised of a bunch of little transformer dudes…LOL. And then came PR, and then Captain Planet (sorta)…LOL. Except we lost the robots… HEY! Where is Captain Planet when you need him??? This Gulf Oil Spill Crisis is his calling card ain’t it? (well he was kind of a sissy, he always got all weak when crud got on his suit…LOL) What next??? Will Superman “No Call-No Show” when the next robber mugs an old lady??? I can’t bear to think of it…

pretty ironic you mentioned this, seen Captain Planet on one of the cartoon channels early in the morning the other day and it was the very first episode and the planeteers fought this pigheaded guy, whose oil rig was dumping oil along some coastline and getting all over wildlife and such and like you said CP lost his power when the guy drenched him in oil.

Whoopi Goldberg voiced one of the characters as well. never really liked that cartoon as a kid was more of a g.i.joe and transformers oh and he-man as far as action cartoons went.

They don’t make cool ass movies like this anymore man … Back to the Future was an awesome movie
One of my fears is that they’ll remake this movie and it will suck serious ass, and kids everywhere will be oblivious to the originals awesomeness because of it. Easily one of the 10 coolest movies of all time.
Here’s my problem with most movies recently: They’re all remakes of movies and shows from 20 years ago; or adaptations of books.

Fuckin BTTF was original. Goonies was a fuckin bad ass movie. Raiders of the Lost Ark was amazing. It seems we don’t have imagniative directors/screenplay writers anymore. What we get is recycled garbage with loud explosions and “uh-ma-zing” special effects.

I remember thinking as a kid how cool it would be to be Marty McFly. He was what? 17 in those movies? Fucking traveling through time. Uhm, Hello, that’s pretty fuckin sweet. Those kids in Goonies? My age when I saw that movie, maybe a few years older, searching for fucking One Eyed Willies rich stuff. How fucking cool was that damn movie? Even the dead Fed in the freezer was a cool scene and it didn’t require anything over the fucking top special effects or an exhorbinant amount of blood and violence. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen Raiders of the Lost Ark. Shit the first 3 Indiana Jones movies were the shit! Even though the 3rd one came out in the 90’s.

Predator came out in the 80’s too. And now we get Predators? Aliens was FAR superior to Alien. And now James Cameron gave us Avatar. Fuck off James, you done fell off ya game son. Aliens was waaaay fuckin’ cooler than Avatar. I remember the first time seeing that movie and Bill Paxton freakin out yellin “Game over man! Game over.” I can’t tell you how many times I used that line to opponents while playing sports as I just delivered the death blow or something (especially while talkin trash in hockey).
Dude, I can’t figure if it’s 'cause todays filmamkers generally lack talent or that they’re so full of themselves they’re collectively sitting around a table saying “You know what movie/show/cartoon was awesome? [Insert 80’s movie/show/cartoon and soundtrack]. You know what would make it better? ME!”. Either way, it’s getting old. For the most part they’re completely fucking up classics. I read the other day that they’re talking about doing a Jaws remake with Tracy Morgan playing Roy Scheider’s role. Really think about that. If this actually happens I will never watch another new movie again. Strictly dvd’s.
Dude I’m with you. Staying with the originals. Imagine Tracy Morgan saying, “We’re gonna need a bigger boat,” the goofy way he would. They’d make it into a spoof of Jaws, not a Jaws remake…
That’s exactly what I’m saying. The guy can’t even get comdey right half the time and they want to stick him in one of the most iconic roles in movie history? Certain movies need to be left alone. Jaws is one of those movies.

Haven’t seen it and probably won’t. But, to me that’s more of a movie of it’s time than a timeless movie. It can be updated to fit any era, where Jaws to me is perfect where it is.

From what I’ve heard from everyone I’ve known who has seen it, they did a decent job with this. I have not seen it but have heard Jackie Chan is better at acting in this than his other films.

IN fact, from here on out, if in doubt, just check spill.com. I haven’t disagreed with one movie review of there’s yet.

I always forget about spill.com … I think their reviews are spot on with my tastes plus they’re humorous … that’s a win/win in my book

I just went to spill.com and read the review for a movie called “The Last Detail” with Jack Nicholson. I love this movie but their review didn’t give it a thumbs up or down kinda rating. All they did was explain the plot. Are they not a thumbs up or down kind of website?

I think their categories are “some ole bullshit”, “rental”, “matinee” and “FULL PRICE!!” in that order.

Also, Bond…it is quite possible that your taste in movies just sucks. I’ve never even heard of that one.

Bu…bu…bu…it does not! Trust me, it’s worth a look. It’s from 1973 and it got a best actor award for Jack N. at Cannes. Randy Quaid is in it as well.
