Avatar Reactions.

My avatar expresses the dark void in my soul.

I believe avatars should show dignity and gravitas. That, and a cat eating spaghetti.

So basically you are asking if you judge people based on their avatar selections?

Yes.

Dudes get low view unless they use themselves as avatar and they look like they train.

Or they got bad ass avatars like me.

Ur avatar is Julia Bond right?

No clue![/quote]

Looks more like Homer Simpson to me.

I tend to read posts less when there’s no avatar involved. Yeah, maybe you have all the experience in the world, but if there’s four posters in a row without a profile pic I’ll just tend to graze the posts over. I like avatars purely in the sense that they give SOME kind of identity to the poster, whether it’s tits, Transformers, or the ruler of Pride Rock who died by his brother’s hand.

I too like to associate an avatar with the poster, if I see a familuar one in a thread I tend to read them more often.

LOL - your’s rocks!

Who cares? An avatar is simply a visual identifier. It helps you recognize a member quickly if they are active on the boards.

I also agree that I’m suspicious of anyone who has a completely empty profile - no stats, no pics, etc.

Or, better yet, the ones who are 6’4", 245 lbs, 6% bodyfat and no pictures. I can only imagine how ashamed one must be with that body composition…

Thanks, got that picture in an email this morning. HAHA

Avatars just help me identify who the poster is without having to read the name. Although i change mine sometimes to keep people guessing.

I don’t post a lot though i am more of a lurker.

I changed to my current avatar after Angryvader and I had a disussion about this pic in another post.

Agreed! I feel exactly the same way.

Maybe you and Angryvader should come to Belfast… ;o)

I usedto believe that if you had a picture of some jacked guy as your avatar then goddamnit, it better be you. But I like the idea of Frank Zane as a stoner.

There has been a study done on discrimination depending on your avatar…

Found it on slashdot.org

okay okay, i’ll find one then…

Funny avatars always score points -

enough times I had guys PMing asking if the avatar was really me LOL

But in all seriousness being on the forums for a number of years now you get to see & know the posters/forum members for their comments moreso than their avatars.

Which is more important - the words/advice or the pic to the left? (Altho WolBarret has had some nice ones recently)

Honestly…?

I like mine.

I just wish others wouldn’t steal it so often, I spent a lot of time getting it just right.

Well, I’d like to go there anyway. That’s just one more reason.

Jakshafter, I still think that pic is an abomination.
