I agree with you somewhat but we have free health care in Australia. We are so spoilt by it that people are constantly complaining that not enough money is spent on health care. There is more than enough money spent, it’s the unaturally high demand we place on the system by being a society of fat, alcoholic, smoking, druggies that causes the problem. From reading other forums I think a lot of Americans are oppposed to free health care because of this. I know I am.
NO health care system should pay for self-inflicted conditions. But of course, that’s far too un-PC to suggest. I’m sure a lot of politicians would like nothing more than to enact such a policy, the problem is the fucking hippies who would get then fired.
australia’s biggest problem is our whole culture pretty much revolves around alcohol, and i’ll admit i’ve probably drank my bodyweight in pure alcohol a few times over, since the start of this year i’ve made massive cuts to the amount i drink, now on top of drinking when people go out they generally hit the mcdonalds up on the way home…which i’ve almost done multiple times
it is sad too see kid waddling around, and i know this is going to come across incredibly sexist but it seems like middle aged women seem to be the cause of this…seems like 1 in 4 seem to be a healthy weight while the rest have gunts…
i’ll be honest its been awhile since i would have seen someone in excess of 150kg+

That’s the problem with the government these days: the wants of the few outweigh the needs of the many.
Just about everyone on this side is obese or morbidly obese according to these studies. I guess countries like India and parts of Africa are the healthiest people in the world since they have the lowest bmi-since they are starving-

lol true…i’m from india and though our food is inherently healthy (lentils boiled with whole wheat, grilled chicken etc) seems like everyone just prefers the McD burgers, the pizza joints or the sweet pastries to simple healthy food.
I have a theory right now though… the prices of carbs have gone up recently and thus their is probably going to be curtailed (economic theory) sooo maybe americans are about to get thinner since the will probably have to either:
a) eat protein more (thanks to fat phobia)
b) eat less on the whole (unconcious decision)
