I’m not too sure what to think of this, so I thought I’d just post it and let it fly.

Who gets to choose what is unhealthy? I sure don’t want the government choosing. I would like to choose myself. If I want to eat myself to death, or drink myself to death so be it. I don’t want the government telling me how to live my life. They do too much of it the way it is now.
Both the mother and the government are wrong.
The government shouldn’t be allowed to take such measures. Remember when MDs “knew” that lifting weights was unhealthy?
And the excuse of an illness that won’t let you know if you are full is also crap. So, how hard is it to keep a log to avoid overeating?
Ramses.
Bad John, I was being sarcastic…Of course I agree, I want no gov. control.

…AMEN, brother.
The Government should step off and let people do their own thing. This guy being fat didn’t infringe on anyone else’s rights. If I took MAG-10 it wasn’t denying anyone else’s happiness.
If PRO is the opposite of CON, then what is the opposite of CONgress?
“He is an addict”, what a load of shit!
I say set the guy afloat and harpoon his fat ass. Then hold on tight for a Nantucket sleigh ride! YEEEHAW! Thar she Blows!!!
It’s almost as if they simply used his “not being able to control eating” as a mental reason for commiting him, but I think that it’s complete B.S…
The only reason a body of law should be able to commit someone, is if they are a danger to another person. This doesn’t fit.
“IT’S COMMONSENSIBLE IN OTHER WORDS IT MAKES SENSE”
What the hell could the point possibly be?
I can see the ulterior motives being promulgated for restricting our supplement choice, and preaching a highly agricultural based diet, but, why would a government worry about one really fat guy? Don’t they have better things to do? Maybe go oppress a military history memorabilia collector who owns a .50 caliber machine gun without any ammo? Or how about leaning on those meddlesome smokers some more, someone has to think of the lungs. Save the lungs.
Anyone read the old comic 2000AD? In Judge Dredd’s world they interred anyone over 300kg in special fat camps. Looks like science fiction is becoming reality.
From the report:
Last night Chris?s furious mother Anne said he has no mental problems and was winning his fight against the rare illness that compels him to eat.
Rare illness? Gluttony isn’t rare, especially in this part of the world.
