Arimidex Dosing Help.

I’m currently on 150mg of testosterone per week.

I found out my E2 was at 49 and I was experiencing symptons of too high E2, so my doctor prescribed me arimidex.

He wrote to take 1 mg per day, but that seems like too much based on what I read.

How much should I be taking and how often based on my testosterone dose and E2 level?

Would .25mg EOD be enough, or should I take more?

That is enough.

Read the Estradiol and TRT: Protocol for injection stickies–your info is there. Most of the guys here will recommend 1 mg Adex per 100 mg of test per week in divided doses (usually every other day). So you would be about 1.5 mg/week. Your doctor recommending 7 mg a week would concern me if I was an informed patient.

Cutting pills to that dose may be tricky

Edit: Forgot to mention that you would retest E2 in a few weeks (4-6) and see where it ends up, then adjust your dose accordingly to reach a “sweet spot” of E2=22

So how about .25mg every day except Sunday, that way I am getting a total of 1.5mg a week?

I think that would probably work. Or you could take .5mg every mon, wed, fri. Or you could get the liquid version and take .4ml EOD (based on 1mg/ml). Have you been taking any at all before the labs came back high? If not, you might just take the .25 EOD and see how you respond and retest E2 in a few weeks to see where the levels are and adjust dosage. Don’t do the 1mg/ day as the doctor prescribed for sure!

This is the same guy who started a thread in May entitled " You Do Not Need An AI"

Experience is a good teacher…hopefully he learned the lesson

that is hilarious. thanks for the link.

My E2 levels were fine back when I made that thread, because I was only on 100mg per week. Now that I am on 150mg per week, however, I need an AI to control my levels.

I didn’t need an AI back then, but now I do.

Ok, but having a thread titled: “You Do Not NEED an AI” is a pretty strong statement that gives people the impression that no one needs AI - and might that not in of itself mislead people who do need AI?

I’m tired of all of the e-doctors on this forum telling the forum goers what medicine they should be prescribed. “You need X mg of HCG! You need y mg of AI per week or you will feel like crap!!!”

In conclusion, some people might need HCG/AI, some people might not, but do not let forum goers prescribe you medicine, let your qualified doctor do it…[/quote]

I kind of understand your concern - but you are basically saying that people are blindly following what they are reading on this forum - which means that everyone here except for you is not smart enough to do their own research and make their own decisions.

I for one am grateful for the advice and direction people provide. I then use that information as a starting point for my research and to help in conversations with my doctor about possible treatment options.

If anyone here is just blindly following the advice of a single person without doing their own research and without filtering that information through their doctor or other sources, then yes that could be a problem - but how many people do you think actually do that?

and now that you do need AI, you are turning to the very same people you complained about being e-doctors after telling them to stop giving advice and recommendations. Your advice was to “let your qualified doctor do it”, but again, now you are back asking for help.

or maybe it is just me who sees the irony/contradictory nature of the situation.

as to your question - VTBalla’s advice looks good. Start off slow to ensure that you are not an over responder. You may need 1mg a day, or 1mg a week, everyone is different. You may also be a fast metabolizer and need daily dosage, again everyone is different. The best thing is to start off slow and then slowly build until your symptoms dissappear or if new symptoms surface, talk with your doctor (or the unqualifed e-doctors who post here) .
