Who has experienced joint pain with Arimidex and still had good E2 levels ?
I stopped taking it after a couple of weeks just 3 days ago and have not received blood work results yet…
I ask because after researching it seems that Arimidex gives some joint pain without their E2 being crashed…
I got some initial joint pain with reasonable levels but it subsided after a few weeks. BUT - when I knock it too low, wow… that gets bad. My wrists and ankles are the first to feel it.

Wrist , hips, knees, ankles, shoulders and now elbows… Just my fingers are OK
Could barely train yesterday, but does feel slightly better today…
How long have you been on it? While I am new to TRT, I was on adex for 3-4 years straight. I would imagine, at that level of discomfort, you are low low.
For years I was on low dose Nolvadex to keep my testosterone up. Given Nolvas ability to lower the effectivemess of adex, plus the high levels of E it was giving me, I took .25mg ADEX 5 days a week. This kept me at 30ish E (sensitive).
When I dropped the Nolva and started TRT, my estrogen immediately, as in days, dropped to the bottom. I tested at <5 three tests in a row. This happened even with a total testosterone of +1500. With that, came the total body joint pain. It is slowly creeping up still, after three weeks of no adex… but man that stinks.
Also, I have noticed that when I get realllllly low, I feel dehydrated all the time, no matter how much water I drink.
I am back an forth between TRT , Clomid and Nothing… To see where I feel best.
That’s another story though.
My current TRT since first week of June or so is.
TEST-E 60 mg twice a week… = 120 mg a week…
Plus HCG 250IU 3 times a week.
Started liquid Adex about 2 weeks ago… .25mg M,W,F.
My last time on TRT with same amount of Test-E only… My E2 ended up at around 45…
It gave me ED…
So I thought I would get an AI this time…
Got bloodwork on Tuesday… I should have it back by tomorrow
How do you historically respond to HCG? I for one hate the stuff. The sides I experience on it are nuts. Even at a dose as low as 50iu twice a week.
My initial treatment was:
140mg test cyp a week injected EOD
250iu HCG twice a week
AI as needed
Within two weeks, this had my total test over +1500, and nearing 2000 by the time it was all reduced to my current treatment (100mg test cyp a week injected EOD). My Dr and I had such a tough time dialing in my treatment with HCG that we had to drop it all together for now. I am also secondary so my testes respond really well to HCG. I hope to incorporate it later.
What shocked me is that even with my total test and free T through the roof, my E2 was knocked to virtually zero on not even 1mg adex a week. I suppose that’s weird for me since like I said, I was on adex for 3 years prior with no issues.
The more I read this stuff the more I understand how different everyone is.
I am no master but I will say… it is much more settling to me as of late to just pick something and stick it out waiting for bloodwork. I drove myself nuts chasing hormone values by guessing instead of just waiting for bloodwork and likely make it worse.
Curious to see where your current puts values. I am also waiting on bloodwork which will be on my newer treatment of 100mg a week EOD, no HCG, no AI.
For what its worth, I just got my latest blood work. I crashed my E2 with 1mg adex a week. It was at basically the bottom for a month or so. I tried to lower adex dose first but E2 never recovered. I have been 100% off adex for three weeks now, with 100mg test cyp weekly, injected EOD.
Total T - 849 (348-1197)
Sensitive E - 18 (3-70)
My wrists are still tender but getting better daily as my estrogen climbs back up. Ankle pain completely subsided. Libido and ED are better and better every day. Hoping my test cyp dose doesn’t shoot me past the 20-30 E2 range and I can stay off adex
Is your estrogen test the sensitive? What is considered the normal value for your test? Ex. 20-30 is normal for Labcorps sensitive where the range is like 3-70.

Range is just noted as LESS than <150…
It would equal 19 in US units.
You may be an anastrozole over-responder and you could try 1/4mg per week in divided doses. In any case, dose needs to be adjusted as per lab results.
Odd lab range! "Estradiol 17 beta 70 - RANGE <150 " Don’t know what to make of that. But really need to know when the labs were done relative to stopping anastrozole!!!

Last dose was night before blood work.
I was taking .25 mg M,W,F.
After almost 6 days, I beleive my joint pain to be ALMOST gone… But libido is still shit…
Mood and energy shit…
Just a waiting game now
BTW my estradiol was about 19 on US scale.
