I understand that it’s not a general practitioner’s area of expertise but they aren’t the only ones saying this to me.
People on trt as well as others knowledgable in the area say they are surprised I even got a script for it with the levels that I have, and that i am not low. Which in reality I guess I’m not actually low, clinically low that is.
Sorry I dont mean to sound like a broken record but this has also helped my decision not taking trt along with the shit feeling I get from being on it.
I’ll try to get my thyroid checked out and see what can be done there and possibly start on trt again.
I get its good being proactive with my health but seems like there is no end to all these medications, they all just seem to be piling up lol.
Yeah I had checked out the link you sent me awhile back and I think the reason I’m stearing clear of that one is because on their website (Copeman health center ) they use gel to treat low T And seems like everybody hates the gel lol.
just want to add that Im currently going through Truebalance in edmonton, i did find another one recently Ascentia wellness clinic but again vary pricey $500 just for a consultation lol. Might take some time to get things rolling. I will check out Calgary as well.
Hey mate. Long time no speak. How quickly did you start TRT again after stopping for a while? And why still the irritable feelings of low T? How long were you off for? You say you could feel ya body starting to produce some test after 5 weeks? Was it enough for you to function and go to work etc etc? Did you hit a deep dark cloud until the 5th week or you felt ok?
I have been off TRT since the beginning of May, last Monday Total T is 97 ng/dL, SHBG decreased to 14 which means TRT increased SHBG for me as high as 22. I have no pre-TRT SHBG labs. I have limited erections, mentally ok, happy for the most part, doing everyday things, going bike riding Sunday.
Life doesn’t grind to a halt just because I have low testosterone, I still enjoy life.
I believe the iron and potassium deficiencies caused the stomach and gut issues I’m having now which forced my off TRT. I have learned iron deficiency can cause inflammation in the stomach and gut which is exactly what I’m dealing with now. IBS and iron deficiency go hand in hand.
I never had these issues pre-TRT but I am suspecting the iron deficiency was already in the process of becoming a problem. Maybe the iron deficiency was the cause of my T decline.
Still trying to get iron dosing right, recently encountered iron overload and had to back down the dosage. I need to resolve these stomach and gut issues before restarting TRT. My bones and joints hurt though, muscles are weaker.
Nws, thanks for the swift reply. So your TT levels have only gotten back to 97 after 2 months off. With no PCT. Interesting. What we’re your TT numbers pre TRT? I find it very good you feel OK mentally. Like able to venture into the outside world and communicate normally and not want to jump off a cliff lol? Glad you feel OK
No PCT, stopped TRT cold and hit rock bottom at the end of 4 weeks, four days later it was clear my natural T restarted and it was high initially because I had signs I only get when Total T is 500>, I only get that smell at above 500 ng/dL on TRT or optimal naturally, plus muscles were getting some T, I could feel it.
I have heard others describe the initial restart as high level feeling at first, then sliding back down to baseline. Pre-TRT my Total T was 120 ng/dL on the second test, so right back down to baseline. My first lab testing showed 220 ng/dL so maybe I’m bouncing around between 97-220 ng/dL.
It would explain my days where I’m feeling better than others.
I have a couple of real hard hitting questions for you. If you don’t mind. When you felt your natural T coming back, did it feel better than synthetic test? Did it or does it feel different? Have a good think about befire you answer me, honestly if it feels the same or different. For me anyway, it does. I’m over the feeling of being on something, and the ups and downs, roller coaster ride of messing with my hormones. You may not notice any difference. I do and that’s one of the reasons why I’m going to stop and try a restart. Can’t really deal with it anymore tbh.
It felt the same, it was as if I just had an injection when starting a new protocol. It was as I describe as T bliss. I feel it right now but come midday I will feel sleepy, almost like a crash from not having my levels high enough.
Remember my levels are higher in the morning and lower at 12pm, between 12-1pm is when the crash hits me.
Got my blood work back today however my doctor wouldnt release all of it to me for some reason.
he just told me what my TT is which came back at 9.5. I’m guessing that number is obviously that low because i stopped trt and is going to take some time to come back to my original numbers?
I wanted to see what my red blood cell count is and he would only tell me that it’s normal.
Going by my pre trt blood work my rbc is normal as well.
So ya I’m guessing my symptoms from trt are either blood pressure related, thyroid, and possibly anxiety/stress.
He was saying tachycardia, headaches, and sweating is common in people with anxiety and not common in people taking testosterone.
So I guess It could be anxiety but I find it hard to believe and if it is anxiety why would taking an AI fix those symptoms unless the anxiety was due to higher E2. How would I go about fixing my anxiety issues while on trt without taking medication for it? Weather It be anxiety pills or AI’s, I’d rather not take any of them.
Guess I’ll stick with my weight loss plan for now and see if I can get my thyroid figured out first before returning to trt if my testosterone numbers dont climb up to optimal levels.
Any doctor that defines normal status as in range, and you are lost. You want to optimal health, you cannot do that with a doctor that believe in range is normal. He’s a robot.
I would have never have gotten better if I listened to my doctor tell me potassium was good bottomed out but barely in-range if I didn’t take action myself.
Haha yeah I can definitely see that, but As far as the RBC count goes though I think “normal” should be ok right? I mean there isn’t much reference range to be in not like testosterone anyways where it can be anywhere from 175-1100.
As far as my test levels go you think they should at least increase back to where they were pre trt right, and how long would you expect that to take?
I’m just wondering cuz I’ve been feeling stupidly tired lately no motivation and depression kicking in again. Not to mention shit libido lol but I haven’t had the privilege of it coming back even on trt although I assume it’s from not being on it long enough to take effect.
Hey guys I have a question about clomid, I dont know much about it obviously but i would like to give it a try. I hear people use it before committing to trt, some have been pretty successful while others not so much. I have heard some horror stories about it though, like messing up people’s vision and increasing E2 substantially.
I’m guessing its something you have to take all the time and if you quit you just go back to how you felt previously? Any thought?
You can try clomid its perfectly safe. I tried it but felt bad from it and stopped. Other people have good experience with it but most of them do not write on the forums.
You start 12.5mg EOD. If you experience any vision issues stop, but with this dosage - the chance is like 0.0000001 percent.
The good thing about clomid is it is not commiting like TRT so you can just start it and stop it like that.
Other people say tamoxifen is better. I plan to give it a try.
It can put spots in your vision. If that happens and you stop taking it, the spots should go away after some time. If you keep taking it with the spots, they can become permanent. Search PCT for more detailed info. Don’t play with the dose, if you’re going to give it a go, really do it. 12.5/day is cute, but not really a restart.
Well that idea doesn’t sound very appealing now lol. sounds worse than testosterone. but i guess that is just a risk that goes along with medications, and doesnt sound like it happens to many people on a lower dose.
As Voncko1988 says, other people say Tamoxifen is better, is that true can it still cause vision disturbances?
how long do people take it for? or do they use it like a PCT for a shorter period of time?
