Anyone watch that show? It’s freakin hysterical.
Yup, Earl and the Office Thursdays…mandatory TIVO material.
Yeah, every week. Love it.
Though honestly, Michael can really get on my nerves. They’re over doing his stuff. Can anyone like that even exist? I guess thats the one thing about the show that bothers me. I can even believe a character like Dwight could exist more than Michael.
I’ve yet to see any of the original British series on which it was based to compare them. But I’ve heard its great.
Also, the most excellent writer/director Joss Whedon will supposedly be directing this Thursday’s episode.
I didn’t like it at first, but it’s been better this season so far. I love the pranks they pull on Dwight, faxing warnings from future Dwight and the phone full of nickles are my favorite.
We have the US version and the original British version here - they’re both good, but no-one can top Risky Gervais as David Brent. If you ever get a chance to see the original show, do. It’s even morehilarious.

Haha, I think thats the point. Each week I want to punch him in the throat.

The original British version is one of the best shows in TV history. Much darker and less sit-commy than the US version, which is still great for what it is. Ricky Gervais (co-creator and the actor who played the Michael Scott character in the UK) is an absolute genius.

Great, great show. It seems like most of the stuff is done without a script. I agree Michael can get on your nerves…and PAM IS HAWT!!!

True. But damn do they over do it. hahah
I want more time devoted to the rest of them.
Guys you’ve gotta get hold of the UK version! In my opinion its up there with Fawlty Towers as one of the finest comedies of all time. This is the famous dance scene:

What do you mean? He’s dressed as Ali G at a work fancy dress day for charity (other wise known as Comic Relief day here in the UK).

While I agree that the original British version of the Office is hysterical, it’s nowhere near the caliber of Fawlty Towers. I’ve probably seen every episode of FT at least fifty times and I still damn near piss myself every time I watch it.

yup, do you guys get Ali G in the States? It’s Sacha Baron Cohen, the guy who created and was Borat. When Da Ali G Show was big it was a big har-de-har thing to dress up as him - the Office was one show that managed to pull it off!! So nah, not racist… fun-nee.
(If that was meant as subtle humour though… I didn’t get it)

Don’t forget the Blackadder series!

I wish they would spend more time with the practical jokes that Halpert plays on Schrute. That stuff has me crying.
I guffaw every time I see the one where Halpert works all day convincing Schrute that it is Friday when it is really Thursday.
I guess that pretty much defines me as having no real life to speak of.

I cracked up last week at the beginning when Jim spent a few weeks conditioning Dwight to crave an altoid every time he hears the sound of Windows rebooting. I almost wish I still shared an office with someone just so I could do that.

I agree with you there, while the office is a great show, I almost find it too painful to watch, especially the second series. I almost took offence at my home town of Swindon being mocked in it, but not quite.
Fawlty Towers though, is a hilarious timeless show. The Major always cracks me up.
Thursday night line up on NBC. This is the only time of week when my friends and family know not to bother me.
im glad this thread hasnt turned into a us vs uk version, like all the others. but imo the us version is slightly better, because i know what the stuff that micheal is doing to be cool, and what it means in our society.
but does anybody like 30 rock, now that show is hiliarious, if you havent checked it out i suggest you do it
