Anyone Taking Armour Thyroid? Feedback?

That sucks he won’t test FT3… That’s kind of important to figure this stuff out I think. Have you tried to convince him to test FT3?

I’m more concerned why I almost doubled my dose (90mg to 150mg) and it had no impact at all. On the left, 90mg in the right 150mg a day… No real difference in free numbers… but TSH was crushed.

I have a feeling Armour is different than NP Thyroid even though they claim the T4 and T3 ratios are the same between brands. If that’s true, why haven’t my numbers increased?

I’m waiting to hear back from the doctor why the switch in brand.

I’d like to know why he switched you as well.

When requesting the blood work, I sent Dr what I wanted to test. One being FT3. You’d THINK that was the major one. He pushed back and said he just goes by total T3. He just argued, etc. and I gave up.

Very annoying as it’s just ONE extra test that is common.

And I haven’t felt much from armour. I was hoping it would be the missing link to my libido issue, but it hasn’t been. I will likely go off of it at some point soon.

I think it’s like going off of test… it may take a bit for thyroid to start producing again. Not sure though.

Supposedly thyroid goes back to baseline pretty quickly from what I’ve read, so I doubt you’ll have as much of a feel like crap period as you would stopping TRT

I read the inactive ingredients that are different between the two (fillers and what not) can affect your symptom/symptom relief. Maybe it can affect levels also, due to differences in absorption from the different fillers.

That’s an interesting theory I never thought of. Either way, I’m a little disappointed by the results after increasing my dose. Still waiting to hear from the doctor…

Talked to the doctor - they called in Armour.
Talked to the pharmacy - there was a backorder on Armour, they thought NP Thyroid was interchangeable so entered the script as NP Thyroid.

I told them almost doubling my dose of NP did nothing. They are changing the script and filling me Armour today.

Waste of money to buy the blood work to find out NP sucks and the only reason I had it was backorder I didn’t know about. Oh well

How do you feel on both? Your numbers are similar across the board with little variation. The fact that you need more NP shows it’s not as potent, but that doesn’t matter as long as the dose is right.

If you feel great there’s nothing to worry about.

Don’t forget to crush your pills and don’t swallow without crushing. It helps the body absorb it better.

I tried chewing the NP thyroid once and tastes like ass…Like, if I ever tasted shit, it’s how I think shit might taste. It turned my stomach.

2.5 grains of NP is definitely not the right dose for me. I don’t feel much different actually, maybe a little more energy because I have an afternoon dose now, but after about 6 weeks, I’m not feeling a big change.

My Armour refill is in progress. I’m switching back tomorrow morning and hope 2.5 grains of Armour is right for me and there are improvements. I’ll try to chew an Armour tomorrow morning and see.

Thanks again!

Call MedQuest or the other one empower? They have armour. Just call the script in there if they are out of stock.

Yes it tastes like shit I know. Put honey on a spoon and put the powder on it and eat it. That is doable. Honey doesn’t mess with absorption. Armor tastes like junk to.

All I can say is that when I started to chew the tablet I started to feel even better. Before that I felt fine. Now I just feel 30% more energy focus and well being.

I think you do need more because free t3 needs to be at the top of range. So if the top is 4.2 you should sit between 3.8 and 4.2 Being at 3.5 is low.

It seems they keep lowering these damn ranges. There are labs out there that stop at 6. Same measuring Value. Others 5 and so forth.

Not sure if the testing is different now , but that doesn’t make sense. An inch is an inch. No matter what. Otherwise reliability is thrown out the window for the medical community if 3.5 ng/dL is now 2.5ng/dL.

Sometimes they switch because a rep comes to the office and they are sold on it.

You think you could chew up and then get it under tongue for a sublingual effect?

Nah. Not made for that. Use honey. I found that on the stop the thyroid madness website.
