Do you live in New York? I know it is overrun with mice and ratz.
I also am shocked if anyone on here would admit to being a lawyer.

I wish Headhunter! I’m outside of Detroit. I wasn’t looking for someone to say, “hey I’m a lawyer I’ll help!” rather I was looking for advice. Much thanks goes out to C-Law and Blueknight for their help!
Oh also I was able to get the repair shop to do it at actual hours of labor not by the MB book, so it cost $430 not $600 this time!!

I’m just kidding about the lawyer stuff,
I used to live in Detroit, my last place of residence being near 7 Mile and Woodward. What a shithole! And the fucking rats were everywhere, even a nest under the floor of our garage.
We need a Katrina (after an evacuation, of course) to just wash the whole place into Lake Erie.
Your letter is just your rough draft, right? I would make the following revisions something like:
[Use a Subject Heading like "RE: Health Department Violations/ Rat Infestation at #### Address Street, City, State, #####-####]
"To Whom It May Concern:
As a tenant currently residing in Building 17, Apartment Unit 102 on your property at (location) I would like to address some problems I have encountered due to your negligence to resolve the problem of rodent infestation that is clearly in violation of (look it up.) I have enclosed photographic evidence taken on (date.) {Take photos of rats, their poop, and other evidence that shows that this is clearly at your building.}I have tried to contact you numerous times regarding a possible way to ameliorate this situation, but you seem unwilling to compromise on this matter. {Reference dates of attempted communication.} I have spoken to other tenants who have similar grievances regarding your complete disregard to comply with [current housing standards.]
I would prefer that we resolve this matter as adults without [legal intervention.] I have included a statement of expenses that I have incurred as a result of the rampant pest infestation in your apartment building. I have also included photos of the damage to my vehicle from your lack of adequate pest control. {Include phtots of damaged parts, receipts} {Don’t offer to pay for any of it yourself.} Your lack of action has compromised my employment situation as well, and I have included a statement of lost wages as a result of your refusal to address the problem. Please contact me at [contact info] by [DATE, one week later] to resolve this problem and any misunderstandings, otherwise I will have to take prompt legal action against you. Thank you.
its been a week and a half since you hired the lawyer, whats the status? Are tehy caving yet?
Negative on the caving, but I put my lawyer on hold. My work just extended my stay here and since I may have to ask them to extend my lease (I doubt I could find somewhere to lease for a month!) I figured I should wait a little while to continue to try and get my money back.
I am looking into getting corp. housing for the month though as I would like to live somewhere else and get back on track trying to get my money!
Oh I should add that I was able to get the dealership to bill me at actual time not by book. This saved me $200!
