Any Paintballers?

Hey gang,

I was just wondering if any of y’all go paintballing regularly? There’s 2 outdoor fields and an indoor field within 45 minutes of me, and I’ve gone 3 times in the past month. I’m totally hooked.

Anyone else partake of the Splatter Sport? (Wow, that sounded cheesier than I expected).

Anyone have, like, a super awsome gun? I’ve heard of guys spending upwards of $1,000 on a “top of the line” paintball gun which is just plain stupid, in my opinion. The 15-dollar rental gun suits me just fine. but if I keep it up, I might spring for a basic gun, which is closer to $100.

Hey dude fellow paintballer here. The $1,000 guns are mostly used by tourney teams or pro’s. Its just gross overkill do just drop that much on one gun alone.
If your looking for a good used gun. Go to Craigslist.com. Click on the closest city to you. Click on sporting and type in Paintball guns or just paintball.A good site to check out for guns is pbreview.com.

I used to play all the time in high school. I pretty much lived paintball for awhile, we played almost every weekend. I stopped in college, because it’s incredibly expensive. I got too into it, and had several expensive guns like an autococker I had tricked out, and a nice new shocker. I got to hate paintball though. The speedball/tournament shit got on my nerves and I resented the disgusting amount of money it cost.

The most fun I ever had was getting together a dozen guys, dressing up in camo, and going out in the woods behind someones house. We’d send out one team to set up an ambush, and the other team would have to pass through the woods to a certain objective or eliminate the other team (kind of a Vietnam seek-and-destroy thing). Now that I have money again I want to buy a cheap gun and just go have fun in the woods. I don’t want to do the dress up like clowns and hide behind giant baloon stuff, it’s just not the same rush.

Woodsball is where it’s at. You stated the reasons why I don’t play speedball. The big time scenario events are the most fun, though. There’s a place near me where every summer they have an event called D-Day, which is basically a paintball version of D-Day! It’s unreal. I think last year over 3k people showed up.
