Stats: 30 years old, 6ft, 220lbs, ~13-15% bf, lift heavy 4x week.
I’m currently bulking and just started a high dose of test-e (1.5g p/w). Just want to check my diet doesn’t have any glaring issues. Have never had it checked by anyone so any comments would be appreciated.
Just that you are going to sick of chicken real fast if you eat it 4 times per day. There are other lean sources of protein. Lots of lean beef options, pork tenderloins, 93% ground beef, turkey, etc.
Tried deca before and didn’t agree with me. But am taking some dbol atm for a couple more weeks. Not sure it’s legit though as it’s not feeling like last time I used it.
I find lower fat, higher protein and carbs works for me.
I’ve been on and off gear for four years. Would like to have achieved more in that time but haven’t always been at 100% I tried a more conservative diet, eating 500 calories over maintenance, for a couple of years and got almost nowhere.
Am going to continue this bulk until early next year and see where I’m at.
Have you thought about eating the whole egg instead of the powdered whites? Honestly, an egg has basically everything you could want in it as far as protein and amino acids, so it’s hard to justify skipping the yolks. Aside from that I’d say add some Greek yogurt in there somewhere. Get the plain stuff, which has no sugar and is just pure protein and fat, and buy a little bottle of vanilla extract. Use an eye dropper to put a little vanilla in the yogurt and stir it vigorously. It’s the best sugar-free way to get the yogurt to not taste like sour cream. Otherwise it’s tough to choke down plain. And the flavored stuff is good, which is how you know it’s loaded with sugar.
The only 2 things I would suggest would be adding red meat into the equation if possible, and more vegetable variety. The latter shouldn’t be too expensive to do.
And I’d also rather see whole eggs in this than egg whites.
The thing I like most about this diet is how high the carbs are. That’s so useful for anyone who eventually has intentions of dieting down. So much room to adjust.
Flip, i agree with everything you said but I’m curious about the red meat statement. Now I LOVE red meat but do you have a reason to believe its better for his goals than chicken? I mean, isnt animal protein all the same in its effects on the body?
I would recommend reading what Stan Efferding has to say about it. The short answer is no, it’s not the same, and that’s mostly due to things like micronutrient content, cholesterol, and the specific amino profile of red meat. Fat content is also higher, which in my opinion is a good thing.
