Any Musicians Here?

I have a beta site for musicians to demo their music and songs. It’s at www.sixtysecondhero.com/index.asp (you need to use the /index.asp or you will go to a coming soon page) Bands can build their own page and so can users.

No comments, hatemail, flames etc?

Well I play guitar in a several bands one that is original but we don’t have a demo. In fact we just got back together. All the other stuff is just covers, jazz standards, and more educational stuff for classes.

I have found that musicians/bands who want demo, and are pretty good, usually have their own websites, or have been on the “original” MySpace.

And those who don’t have sites will YouTube it.

That’s the interweb for ya!!

Why do I have to register to be able to listen to the songs?

The same reason you registered for this site. It’s a way to track demographics (i.e. where is the audience is from). Once you register you can build your own page and design it the way you want. Bands can build a web page and promote their songs and music.

People hate registering for something they will likely not use that often or find very interesting. It might be a good idea to allow users to listen to music without registering. You would still have to register to post music and webpages. This is how most successful sites work (e.g. YouTube).
