I was just checking to see if you can bet on who will be the next President and low and behold you can.
Bodog has Obama at -240 .
I gave up betting 2 football seasons ago, but I’m really tempted to lay some money down on Obama. Not trying to get in a political debate here, but I really don’t see him losing the election (I’m not for either him or McCain), just seems like we’re do for a Democrat, and we’re due for a black President.
It’s been a while since I’ve betted, so what does the -240 mean? I know it has something to do with the payout, but can’t remember how it works.

-240 means you would lay $240 to win $100 on Obama in this spot. So you would be risking $100 on Obama in order to win $41.67.
The (-) part means you’re backing the favorite while the (+) side is the underdog. For example, other side of this wager (GOP candidate) would be something like +180 which means you lay $100 to win $180.
I like to gamble, but mostly playing No Limit Texas Hold’em. At least with that I feel some resemblance of control. I was making decent money too, but promised my family I’d stop since there’s a history of gambling problems in my family.
I wouldn’t get anywhere near Bodog. They just had $24 million frozen by the US government because Calvin Ayre blatently thumbed his nose at US authorities for so long.
However, I like to gamble on stuff like superbowl squares. I split $1000.00 squares with one or two family members. Last year we made $12,000.00, but that fails in comparison to the amount we have lost over the years…
I also like to play table games like pai-gow poker and let it ride…

Bodog is fine, 24 million isn’t that much to a company that rakes in what they do. [/quote]
The amount frozen isn’t as important as the fact the DOJ is taking aim at them. That was just the first pass. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see accounts frozen and payouts halted.
There are other places to play online that are safer.
As far as who will win, I think Obama has the covered. People are tired of gas prices, the housing cost, and the rising cost of just about everything. I could also be wrong, because in the last election I nearly fell over when I saw the south vote majority Republican.

You expect a liberal socialist to lower costs? Wow…
Surprised by the Bible belt to vote Republican? again wow…
