Q&D/Iron Cardio, Week 2
“Off day” from oral surgery recovery
-
15:00 walk with the dog
-
Easy strength mobility work (15:00)
-
Built from Broken Mobility work, light bounces on trampoline (15:00)
-
20:00 walk
Notes: I had fully planned to get in a workout session today. But, reading up on the post-surgery recovery from extractions and implants, there is still a reasonable chance of developing a “dry socket” due to strenuous activity within the first few days. I do feel like swings and push ups are not that strenuous, especially if done with lighter weights and less explosion, but also - what’s the point in taking the risk? Might as enjoy the light mobility work and walking, and come back strong on Monday.

Quick and the Dead/Iron Cardio. Week 2.
Mobility and Warm up
-
Original Strength mobility work
-
10:00 walk
-
3 x 5 prying goblet squats
-
3 x 5 bridges
-
3 x 5 KB halos
Iron Cardio, 30:00
Using a single 22 kg KB; Traveling 2’s:
-
2 clean, 1 press, 1 squat (R/L) + 2 pull ups
-
1 clean, 2 press, 1 squat (R/L) + 2 pull ups
-
1 clean, 1 press, 2 squat (R/L) + 2 pull ups
Got up to 62 pull ups, 31 rounds for each side.
______
Ab Wheel x 15
Farmer’s Carry
25:00 walk
Notes: I’m feeling fine today and haven’t needed any pain meds, so figured I’d get this “light” session in. The normal weight for this would be the 28 kg KB, so the 22 kept things on the easier side. Even though it has only been a few days, it felt great to get back at it and do a legitimate workout.

3 x 5 bridges
Q&D work: 1-arm swings and weight vested push ups

____
Kroc rows:
1 x 10 x 36 kg KB (R/L)
1 x 30 x 36 kg KB (R/L)
15:00 walk
Notes: Pretty fun workout, actually. It feels almost “too easy”. Decided to finish it with Kroc rows rather than ab wheel/carries for a change. Pretty brutal, but over really fast.
