My doctors office just called me…they are sending me to a urologist, I guess he doesn’t feel comfortable writing anastrozole scpt…will google that…thanks for your help
Should i do hcg as well?? what would happen if I’m just doing test and ai?
You will become sterile, your testicles will atrophy, other hormone that is created by the testicles will be impaired. Atrophied testicles are not something i would want alone.
^Yes, what he said.
You gotta read the stickies. There are TRT clinics that will do consults and get you completely set up online. If there isn’t anyplace year you, I would highly recommend going this route. I use a local clinic, but my brother uses one of the online places and he’s very happy with it.
Ok. I’m 32 and don’t want anymore kids, I also had a vasectomy a couple years ago and not concerned about my balls shrinking some…would u still recommend hcg?
Ok, I go to an endocrinolgist in 2 weeks hoping he will listen to my requests. Might have to go that route.
Consider the aesthetic aspect. The testes are the only organ in the male body of pregnenolone so you don’t want to impair that. Apart from that, you can decide. See the TRT protocol sticky to understand hCG.
whats some things to expect if I start taking AI and hcg?
Your nuts should return to normal size and you should feel better all around.
Other than my balls getting bigger, hcg had no affect. Some people gain weight on it.
I know some people are worried about the size of their balls, I guess it’s more impressive when you hang brain, but, it means nothing to me. Frankly, I’m much more comfortable - they don’t get wet when I’m taking a shit, I don’t sit on them, I’m not constantly readjusting.
My last doctor actually told me that a study showed that women preferred the appearance of high and tight (I didn’t believe him).
To me, it just wasn’t worth fucking around with another vial, refrigerating the shit, careful not to shake it, keeping different needles. Too much of a headache.
By what mechanism does hcg cause weight gain? I’m 54 years old and also don’t care about my balls shrinking a little. I don’t feel any positive mood changes on hcg, so I’d consider dropping it if it is contributing to weight gain.
Hey guys,
Hope I’m not hi-jacking a thread, but I’m new to this and not really sure how it works. I have been reading the forum for awhile in attempts to educate myself and would really like KSman to help me out. Long story short is that I am 46 y.o. and started on TRT in Feb 2016 secondary to what I now realize were low T symptoms. Mostly low sex drive, lethargy, lack of motivation, lack of muscle mass despite working out, etc…I have experienced a very positive result with the treatment to date. It has definitely improved all of the symptoms listed above.
My initial morning reading was a total T of 129 and my second morning reading a week later was 320. I was given an initial dose of Test of 200 and felt like a new man almost immediately. I am going to a clinic that only does TRT. I have been going one time per week and receiving 160 test each week. Here are my numbers on 3-10-16 one month after starting.
Total test: 822
Free T: 16.5
Hematocrit: 48.8
Hemoglobin: 16.1
Estradiol: 68
SHBG: 42
I was then kept at the same dose and added Anastrozole 1 day after the test injection. I did this for 6 weeks and re-tested. Here are the numbers on 5-5-16.
Total T: 927
Free T: 24.1
Hematocrit: 50.5
Hemoglobin: 17
Estradiol: 41
SHBG: 28
I am still much better than when I started, but don’t feel as good as I initially felt. I know that one time per week dosage isn’t optimal, but that’s all they offer and not sure that I can talk them into just ordering the testosterone and allowing me to do it myself.
Questions:
-
Should I split the AI dosage and take it 2x/week? Would that help bring my E down?
-
Should I possibly ask to decrease the T dosage. The labs were done 7 days after the injection so I’m assuming my T was much higher earlier in the week. Maybe too high and therefore converting too much into E?
-
Haven’t talked to my Dr. about HCG. Would this maybe help my E and are there any side effects of the HCG that I should be aware of ?
Thanks for any help!
Yep, don’t know how it causes weight gain. The doctor said he had taken it and gained weight on it, so it’s just anecdotal.
I got the urologist to write me a prescription for anastrzole. he prescribed 1mg every other day…is this excessive?
Yes that’s a lot of anastrozole. Most are taking 1mg/week
I’m having a hard time dialing in my estrogen levels. I am prescribed 160mg test/weekly. I divide this dose into two injections 80mg (Tues/Fri’s). I was also prescribed arimedex 1mg 3x week. I found this to be way too high and levels were undetectable at this dose. So i went to .5mg twice a week and that wasnt enough as levels were still in the 50’s. My urologist seems clueless on this subject so I’m trying to figure out on my own. My last test result was 677 test and est was 57 (when i was taking .5mg 3x week) Recently I’ve been taking 1mg arimex twice a week (24 hours after my injection). My morning wood is better and sex drive a lil better but I noticed im drowsy alot…is this normal? And should I divide my anastrozole doses into smaller doses…like half pill 4x week? I go for lab work in a month. Will see what my levels are at that time. Any advice that is optimal?
Anastrozole reaches its half life at 2 days or 50 hours, the goal here is to take the anastrozole at the same time as your injections. You should be taking the AI with your injections, you just need to increase the AI dosage.
I get my anastrozole compounded and am able to separate the capsule and eyeball it into quarters, anastrozole dissolves in vodka and I plan dissolve it to get exact doses.
So at 160mg of test divided into 2 doses. 80 on Tues and 80 on Friday and 2 mg of anastrozole a week. 1 mg on tues and 1mg on Friday leaves me with 877 total T and 77 estrodial which is still high? If i go to 3 mg a week isnt that excessive? Should I consider asking my doc to lower my test to 140 or 120 a week?
Honestly if possible I would try to get off the AI, linked to many negative health outcomes.
Do not go up on the AI, it can have a lot of negative sides. That is an enormous quantity of it already. Have you considered tapering it down a seeing what happens?
